Greatest Final Fantasy Soundtrack!!!

OK this game can be criticized all it wants to down the board, but the soundtrack is just so good. And this isn't even about 'Eyes on Me'. Even just walking around the world, all the places have their own unique sound that really sets the mood for where you are. Especially Balamb Garden which has the best background music in any game.

Does anyone else agree with me or does everyone just like 'Eyes on Me'?

I totally agree, eyes on me isnt the best thing in the world. But it is good. However, there are some fantastic pieces on the soundtrack, love grows which is a based on the main eyes on me theme, the oath and the fantastic fishermans horizon. Uematsu created a master piece with this OST.

The orchestral arrangments of the pieces are soemthign to behold too, if any one has listened to "fithos Lusiec Weco Vinosec" youll know what i mean.

Final Fantasy VIII's soundtrack had some stand-out points, but neither the Balamb theme nor the Ragnarok theme were one of them.

I thank God the speakers are broken on my TV. :p

I agree, best FF soundtrack, IMO.

Balamb Garden's background music even gets me right there, I can't help but smile whenever I hear it.

And the battle themes have to be my favorites. Especially the regular random encounter music, and Laguna's battle theme.

I Also love that music playing the the Deep Sea Deposit, Fire Cavern and the entrance to Shumi Village.

So yeah, best soundtrack of all the FFs, IMO. :up:

FFVIII soundtrack is my fav by faaaaar. It's all on my iPod, and I like to put it on shuffle and imagine I'm in the specific places! :P

Well, in a less nerdy way - but seriously it really rocks, 'Maybe I'm a Lion' FTW! And also 'The Extreme' possibly just for the piano part! :D

Edit: What am I saying??? My god, I actually left out 'The Landing' otherwise known as the Dollet Assault music. Truly awesome. Truly.

VIII's soundtrack was my personal favourite too. It had some real deep music, but I think the best thing about it, what that it was perfectly suited for its surroundings.

Well I set Balamb Garden 's Theme: Ami as my message alert tone. Previously it was Eyes on Me. In my phone I have all FFVIII soundtracks. "Really appreciate them all," my heart once said.

Its one of the good 'uns. Don't Be Afraid is the best battle theme in the history of battle themes, better than whatever the poor eunuch sang over the Battle of Hastings.

However, Eyes on Me is not so good, as are a good many other tracks.

it's a great game with the best soundtrack. there are a number i can list, especially Premonition, Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec, and Maybe I'm A Lion, etc.

Which isn't a good thing as it makes it the 'Busted' song of Final Fantasy :P

I too think it's the greatest soundtrack in the FF series. I think songs like "Liberi Fatali" or "Eyes On Me" are weaker than the rest, actually...

I preffered the FFIX soundtrack to be honest...but a few songs did make me smile when i played FFVIII... i do like 'The Black Mages' version of ''Force Your Way''....Makes me want to play it again....

FFVIII has a great soundtrack.

But FFIX takes the cake. Some of the tracks in FFVIII were a little boring and repetetive. (but it was still great).

I really like the Main theme on FFVII....The music played on the world map..really gets you going....but my favorite of FFVII has to be the boss theme..one of the only FF battle themes for me that really works when you fight..gets the foot tapping with the beat...:)

I can't say that the overall OST for Final Fantasy VIII is the best in the series. Compared to games such as Final Fantasy VI and IX I think it falls a bit short. It is a great collection of music in its own right, though, and in fact it undoubtely does have the best ending score and orchestrated soundtrack. That Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec soundtrack is mindblowing.

I'd have to admit that I kinda liked this sound track. To me it doesn't really compare to IX and VI for me, but it does compare to 4, 7 and 10, which isn't a bad thing at all. The airship theme in this game was like my favorite theme.
