Chocobo race and the cloudy mirror

As far as i know i couldnt find this on the ultimate weapon thread.

I need to get the Cloudy mirror and in my guide it says i need to go ro remiem temple and race the chocobo, i go up to it and all it does is jump, no race or anything. Do i need to complete the 4 training game thing's before i do this??

Ah yeah i found a sphere thing there telling me to start the race...thanks :)
