Is it alright to have an avatar that doesn't match your user name? I've been wondering this, because I'm thinking of switching my avatar and I'm stuck for ideas. Thoughts?

Having an avatar and user name that don't match is what terrorists do. Do you support the Al Qaeda? You better watch your step, son. :mad2:

Clearly, those who match their avatars and signatures are lacking common sense and hardcore creativity.

My avatar and my username doesn't match exactly. But matching is really not a big deal.

He said his username, people.

Your username doesn't need to match your avatar to be considered proper or whatever. Most people have a name and avatar that don't match.

Be a rebel. Don't make them match. :jess:

Shiny

Mr. Sparkle avy=Shiny

Roto13=Indian Jones (Don't question!)

The choices are yes and yes. The answer is yes. They must match.

P is for Psychotic.

...or is it? Maybe it stands for Paul, and I, too, am raging against the machine.

My Life Drain does 300 damage per second with Aganhim's Sceptre.

Therefore, a Pugna/Oblivion Avatar matches perfectly.

I think most people don't have avs that match their username.

A username is just something you use to go through a forum. What you decorate it with is up to you. (see white guys with 'fro's or Michael Jackson)

My name and avatar did match, but its hard making sigs, avi's and stuff of Albel because there is soo few pictures of him. So no, they dont have to match. No-one will notice unless you sig and avatar are not matching.

I do not at the moment, but that's just for elections. I plan to change it back to my purple theme once I have time to make a new sig and avatar. (Purple to represent the pirate Faris ;) )

My new avatar matches my profile pic, but most people don't match anything up. Even if they do, just do what you want n.n

The guy in my avatar is a Chinese Bunny.

Technically I could name Link whatever I want. Although the fanboys would probably call blasphemy.

I think it's fine for your av and username to not match. Sigs and avs don't have to match either.

The only way to match my username and my avatar is to put my own photo... Do you know anyone who does that?:D

There are no rules or hidden etiquette - do what you will.

But realize that eventually people will come to attribute certain images with your name and personality.

If I was a pixelated dancer I would match my avatar, but I am not.

However, my avatar and signature must match! (atleast in colour).
