Get a new one. That's the only solution I know, unless a local store has a disc repairer then just buy a new one

my disc always crashes at the fmv after beasting evrae, so i jus borrow a friends disc till i pass that fmv then start on mine again.
I dropped $12 for a new one because some asswipe I lent my copy to lost the instruction booklet.

Try disc cleaner. Probably won't work, but it's worth a shot, right?
My first and second disc of FFVIII are REALLY scratched up. The second disc only freezes at one spot, but sometimes it just goes by really choppy and I get through it. I used disc cleaner on the second one, and all that did was stop it from going slow and choppy. It still freezes in the same spots, though DX

On my copy of FF IX... Oh man. When all of my charaters have fulls ATB guages, the game freezes, out of nowhere... I never have finished that game.

I've come to disprove something suggested by this thread. Discs do not live, therefore, you cannot kill a disc. A more appropriate title would have been "I could NOT kill my disc! GRR!" Just sayin'.

Would killing the disc make it work better?

Glue two FF V cds together and you can get another FF X disc, it's simple maths!

Plus, if you use the Anthology version (that also has FFVI) you get an extra copy of FFXII! Score!

I thought i was posting in my sleep again for a while :riiight:
Just borrow someone elses disk to get through that part and then you can probably play the rest with your own disk

Once I've done that, I'm going to glue it to my FF Origins disc and get FF XIII!

I like your logic! :)
My Final Fantasy VII disc sometimes freezes at a certain point during an FMV at Junon, which is really annoying, so I can feel your pain. Sometimes my FFVIII CD 4 won't start at all.

whats the toothpaste trick or whatever.

The "toothpaste trick" is when you clean the disc with toothpaste......but personally i don't reccomend doing so.
