Serenity needs a sequel. Although... I'm not sure how they'll manage that given that 2 main characters were killed off in that original movie. Aww, still makes me sad thinking about it. :( Great movie though.

As were the whole Firefly series. You could easily spin off a sequel with other characters though. 24 killed pretty much there was to kill in season 5 and there's still season 6. Both of which are utter bull-crap to be honest.
I'm no fan of sequels. They're just there to open the valets of the fans. There's a reason why all stories have an end.

Legally Blonde 2 & Cinderella III.

The only movies that need sequels are the ones that make it clear there will be a sequel. It's even better when a sequel is implied in the title of the first movie. Kill Bill: Volume 1 is an excellent example of this.

Whedon's original plan was for a total of three movies if Serenity did well enough, with appearances from all of the main characters no less. It would be quite easy to do a sequel with the remaining characters anyway, but it would have been nice to see the others appear. Sadly, I doubt we'll ever see a sequel.

Meh, it's sci-fi. They could resurrect them if they liked. We're not talking about "War and Peace" here.

Teacher: River were not telling people what to think, were just trying to so them how.

It may be sci-fi, but that wouldn't fly in the Serenity universe. It'd be much too "out there" for the series.

Just because it's SciFi doesn't mean that they can cheapen the show by resurrecting people whenever they want. The very great SciFi shows play within the boundaries that they set for themselves.

I strangely enough think Pulp Fiction needs a sequel.
Maybe 'The Apartment' could have used one too.
