17 inch screen laptop
2 GB memory + graphics only memory...
5 in 1 DVD / CD burner

HP Pavilion Entertainment PC.

I'm quite happy with it, except with the Vista it came pre installed with.

I'm quite happy with it, except with the Vista it came pre installed with.

Ugh, even if I liked Windows I wouldn't go anywhere near Vista yet. Never will either until I get a machine with a DirectX 10 compatible graphics card. I don't blame you for not liking it.

My current desktop:

Pentium IV 3.0 GHz
1 GB ram
128 MB GeForce 5900XT
200 GB Hard drive

Don't really know the specs any better than that since I didn't build it, and we've had it for a few years now.

My laptop which is on the way (and is meant to hold me over for a couple more years until I can afford to build the monster I really want):

Dell Inspiron
15.4" Monitor
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 (2.0GHz)
1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
ATI RADEON Xpress1150 with 256MB HyperMemory

I plan on installing Linux once I get it (while keeping Windows XP so I can play at last some of, if not all of my games). I also want to try and get it set up for recording music over the next few years. I worry the integrated audio might not be quite up to it, but it's more of a hobby thing for now anyway. Like I said, I plan on building a monster of a machine a year or two down the road anyway so I'm not too worried about it right now.

My computer is around 3 years old, but lately I have been upgrading it.

Once I buy some more stuff for it next week, this is what it'll look like:

Pentium Core 2 Duo 2.18GHZ (still up in the air about this)
2GB DDR400 Corsair
nVidia 7900GS 256MB (AGP)
2x250GB SATA HDD 7,200RPM (wish I had 10,000RPM)
21" Widscreen Samsung (SyncMaster 215TW)
And DVD readers/burners.
Oh and I have a Wacom Intuos3 tablet. =D

I really want to get another Samsung screen though, so I'll be saving up once I buy the new motherboard, psu and cpu.
