GameVideos.com - Soul Calibur IV 'Debut' teaser HD (http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/12170)

Reportedly, those are in-game character models. I'll believe it when I see it (Tekken 6 anyone? This *is* the same company...)

Regardless, definitely looking forward to it. Not due until 2008, so I really hope they polish this one.

I took some stills from the downloadable HD version, click 'em if you want to see 'em:

Is it just me or does more of Ivy's outfit vanish with each successive Soul Calibur iteration?

Ivy's outfit is... uh... whoa...

Looks shiny! Let's hope it's more like I & II than III.

Sweet! I can't wait for both this and Tekken 6.

.. by the way, that top of Ivy's looks dangerously small on her dangerously big bossom O_O

Hopefully this series can redeem itself after the disappointing Soul Caliber III.

Stretch marks on the tits, too much realism thanks.

Wow, Ivy's outfit is... thought provoking. xD

I can't wait for this, along with Tekken 6.

Huh. Pretty interesting. The character design for Nightmare and the Soul weapons seem to have changed quite a bit.

Look at the tags on the GameVideos site. Xbox 360.

This gives me much joy.

Ivy was fun to use in Soul Calibur 2, but they kill her in SC3. Not that she was bottom tier or completely unusable, in fact, in the right hands she could be just as deadly. But I really didn't like the new playstyle, her stances just didn't flow like they used to. I had to learn too much to readjust. Same story with Talim.

So the transition from SC2 to 3 saw my characters get cut right down to only Cassandra and Siegfried. Which is a shame because Siegfried isn't as good as SC2 Nightmare and Cassandra in the console version is just broken, so winning with her isn't as rewarding.

So my standards at the moment are set fairly low. I'm more into Tekken now but if Soul Calibur manages to prove to be just as good and gets released in the arcades, then there's no question about it.. I'd definitely jump ship back to SC.

Yes.

Other than that, the lack of stuff actually happening in that trailer disappoints me.

It's looking pretty good to me - Ivy's silly outfit aside.
SCIII's the only one I've really played before, but it was thoroughly impressive, so I'm looking forward to the next one greatly.

There are some things I'd really like to see, though - mainly, more characters using actual historical martial arts systems. If they could motion-capture skilled martial artists, like they did with Tekken, it'd add to the realism of the fighting. It'd be especially good to see Siegfried using an actual zweihaender sword, and German longsword wards and strikes. Ivy's style could easily be redesigned to include authentic English single-sword techniques, like those in George Silver's manuscripts.
I could go on, but suffice to say there are some great things they could include in the new game.

As for stretch marks, cellulite, etc - I'm all in favour of challenging the old fighting-game stereotypes. Airbrushed supermodels who've supposedly had years of fighting experience... pretty silly, really. Basides, I was greatly amused by fan response to 'body fat physics' in SCIII - like the a thread complaining that Taki had become "fat" because her waist was now wider than her head.

Tira's new face displeases me, but that could just be the angle. I hope she changes a lot, gameplay-wise, though. She wasn't very useful in SC III.

I read that Talim was a mid tier character... :(

I don't know if it's true.

But she certainly did excel when using constant Mids.

I haven't seen a tier list for III in a while, but I find that hard to believe. :P

Tiras new look is cool, very interesting I think! Although I'm disappointed it's not an extension on the green and purple look, I mean this outfit does look a bit like a 2p.
I love the whole new look of it all, :D I NEED MOAR TRAILERS!!!

Tira's new outfit has a kind of 'Kingdom Hearts' look, to me. Though it's good that it's influenced by real historical clothing, if only slightly (the trousers).

Siegfried's full plate is largely unchanged, which is to be expected; Misturugi's costume seems virtually identical, too.

Maybe it's just me, but Taki's bodysuit looks even more painted-on than the last time.

As for Ivy... lass needs to put on some clothes. I'm no expert on such things, but I can't really see how that outfit would remain decent for more than a few moments.
