Anyone else a fan? Anyone?

I have read the entire manga up to the latest scanlated versions by Aquastar-anime. I also watched both Animes as they were released by fansubbers as well as both of the OAV's. Personally the manga is far more enjoyable than both animes.

My favorite characters are likely Nodoka, Yue, Ako, Negi, and Kotarou. Chao is also cool, but I won't spoil the scene I like the best if you haven't yet read the manga.

w00t, another fan! I don't really like Nodoka though. I think she's kinda bland...But Yue is awesome, and i've only seen Ako speak, like, once.

So far, my favorites are Ayaka and Chisame (I've only seen the first...15 epsidoes as of right now)! Ayaka is such a shotacon, and Chisame's episode was so hilarious! And I hope Kazumi gets more screen time!

I hope Asuna and Negi don't like, end up together...That would be so uncomfortable...For me anyway.

Not liking Nodoka if you have only seen the animes is understandable. She has much more character in the manga.

Nodoka's artifact(the first anime doesn't really show it much) is a diary that allows her to read a person's mind. Including her own 'true' thoughts. In other words she can beat self-deception with it.

Here is a crapnature(crappy signature) from a scene involving Nodoka and Haruna in the manga[I hope this doesn't get me in trouble and just in case I only linked to it.. I don't think it is bad enough but it is at least a bit suggestive].

*cough*

*cough*

Kazumi gets a good amount of screen time in the manga. However, unless my memory is off Kazumi really doesn't get too much at all in either anime.

Also if you enjoy Chisame you should watch the Haru and Natsu OVA's there are some nice scenes of her in there that I found enjoyable.

Hmm... I also want to mention that the Characters don't always hold true to their manga selves in the anime. If I recall the anime says Nodoka has a fear of men... however, that isn't in the manga. She just happens to be VERY shy.

Now I definitely have to get the manga!

And that signature wasn't that bad...n_n

What about Zazie? Do you learn anything about her in the manga? I've read around the web and it says she only gets one line in the entire first anime...

It looks like all the nice and sweetness of the world collided with a bunch of kids in Mangaland. Standard anime stuff then?

Zazie is still shrouded in mystery but there are 'easter eggs' of development for her dropped here and there throughout the 174 chapters of the manga that I have read.

Anyways once you finish the ones released in English you could check out aquastar. You won't be able to get the books/chapters released in English from them because they follow the 'scanlator/fansubber' ethic. However, you can get the OVA's and the latest manga chapters[166-174] that haven't been released in English from their site.

As for Captain Max here is quick preview.

Negi Springfield is a 10 year old Welsh boy and he has been given the task of being a English teacher for an all girls class at Mahora Academy in Japan. However, Negi is not your average 10 year old. He is a graduate of the Magic Academy and is a child prodigy. Not only that but he is son of the Thousand Master one of the, if not the, most powerful Magicians of his time.

This task is not as easy as it seems. First Negi must keep his identity a secret, or else. Secondly the class is the most hyper active and unusual class of 14'ish year old girls you have likely ever seen. To make matters further worse is the fact these girls love to put him through his paces(poor guy gets stripped by them :/ and dressed up as a kitsune-girl, and so much more).

And the final complication comes when his power is inadvertently revealed to one of the more hot tempered of his students(who has been given reason to dislike him already).

Edit- It is made by the Ken Akamatsu who also made Love Hina. You can definitely see a similarity between the two, but Negima whoops Love Hina quite easily.

Edit2- And just cause I love these three pages I'll share them. There is some Ayaka goodness in these three :P.

I've seen several episodes of the anime, it's cool ^.^
However, as I believe I mentioned in a previous rant, I share a room with both of my brothers and can't focus enough to read with other people around. Thus I don't think I'm going to be reading the manga for a while.

Just another typical school morning for the young boy teacher.
What will Negi's class do for the culture festival? (http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/Grimoire-of-The-Sages/Negima/Chapter%2072%20Festival%20Ideas/Ch72-Pg11.jpg)

And this is what happens when Asuna decides to be nice and let Negi share her bed(Negi being just a little boy doesn't like sleeping alone and had always slept with his sister).
Negi is gonna get it (http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/Grimoire-of-The-Sages/Negima/negimac7219.jpg)

Anyways those are some of my favorites that stand out(that and the three pages previously shown). Of course the real meat of the Manga is in other pages, it actually does have a plot :p.

My friend lent me the manga. It's reasonably interesting but nothing really stand-out, and the heavy fanservice involving overdeveloped 14-year-olds who are all in love with their 10-year-old teacher isn't exactly my thing.

Yue's my favorite character. She has a never-ending supply of juice. But I disagree with it beating Love Hina. My friend told me the same thing and I just don't get what y'all see in it. I like Negima and all, but Love Hina is way, way better.

I think the Love Hina Anime scored higher than the Negima animes. However, I prefer the Negima Manga. Likely just personal tastes. I will admit that before I make a 'final' judgment on it I'll need to wait till it finishes. Anyways both are great, but I find Negima to fitting my tastes a bit more(or even that I just prefer the character's... Negima's cast is large enough that just about everyone should have a character or two that they particularly like).

*Note: I don't recall all the ways in which the Del Ray manga differs, but I don't much like their translations of it, I prefer the scanlator's translations for the most part(though some of them make me a sad puppy); anyways because of this the Del Ray manga may make somethings appear slightly differently*

It didn't really strike me too much as all of them being overdeveloped. There are some that way, but I have seen 14 year olds quite developed irl from time to time so it is no big deal with me. There are some that are underdeveloped for their age physically(the Fumika twins are the easiest example). Basically they have a range of builds which would make sense in a diverse class.

I really must wonder how much you have read that lead you to state "14-year-olds who are all in love with their 10-year-old". There are actually very few with such intentions toward the poor guy. Most of them just like playing with him in a way that would make any guy cringe.

I could probably list the ones in love with him. But some complications arrive that make certain characters debatable *Cough* Asuna *Cough*

Not really sure if I should just make a new thread on this or not. But since I am not adding too much that is constructive I'll just post here unless the Moderators are completely against it :p.

First an update. As of August Del Ray has released Volume 15[chapters 130-139] for sale. In addition as of Today AQS has scanlated up to chapter 182[actually 189 but they somehow managed to skip chapters 183-187]. And onemanga.com has it all the way up to 189.

It is now coming to a head. To Wales they go in chapter 182. Their rigorous training has been completed; though not without the usual mishaps. One of the complications is that Negi's childhood friend comes over and develops a particular dislike to the 'big-breasted nee-chans'; as well as anyone else who would think of 'tempting' Negi.

The sad part is that the hitherto neglected characters still haven't gotten much back ground. Though we did get to see just how much various members of Negi's group has improved. Even Nodoka and Yue can handle themselves now[long story short Eva tests Negi's group by giving them a badge that they must hold onto or else they will not be allowed to go; she then sets it up so that Ayaka and some of the others will try to nab the badges from them.... pretty funny because the twins decide to try and steal Kaede's badge; a couple try to take Ku Fei's badge[whatever they were on must have been strong]... and the opportunists decide to go after Nodoka and Yue].

As un-special as Negima is, there is a Live-Action version of it that just started airing in Japan.

My suggestion: Avoid. (http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2007/10/03/negima-drama-01/)

For some reason I think I have just had a glimpse of hell:eek:

Yes, I was fool hardy enough to actually watch the ED and OP...... as well as locate a copy of the raw.... my poor eyes

And is the news bit I read about Negi being played by a 13 year old girl accurate? *deep breath* !TRANSVESTITE!

As a final note.... It isn't just Negima... in general making a live action series of an anime isn't the world's best idea.....[or I have yet to see a good one].

I just recently started to really become interested in this anime. (Manga is too expensive for my tastes, even though I like it.)

Anyway, where's a good place to find the episodes (if I may safely ask that?)

I have to post up. AQS has now released chapter 197. Negi and Kotaru are once again in a tournament. This one however is in the Magic world!

Due to age pills Negi is in his older form. And in this tournament rather than using his name he uses the name of his father, Nagi Springfield. Of course this creates a stir in the magic world. The members of the Negima Club are still searching to locate and regroup with one another. This is part of the reason Negi has taken his father's name. The press publicity has allowed him to reach out and even set a meeting place for his comrades!

'Fraid I am not sure on the anime. If you are talking about the second anime that one might still be able to be located on mahora-academy.net. However, I think both animes have been licensed for an English release so they may have stopped subbing it.

As for the Manga if you just are talking about the chapters not yet released in English those are locatable at Aquastar's homepage or on various online manga sites[where you read them online, I don't much care for them but some people like them].

Don't worry about it, I found the entire series on Google Video.
