EoFF’s Sexiest Male isn’t a male supermodel. He’s not a lumberjack, (well I don’t think we’ve ever had a lumberjack anyways), he doesn’t have his own razor commercial and he definitely, definitely doesn’t bathe as often as he probably should. Except maybe Breine, he looks like a pretty clean guy.

Another thing that sets EoFF’s Sexiest Male apart is that he doesn’t necessarily have to be seen by anyone in order to gauge his appeal. I have never seen a picture of Del Murder or The Fonz, but both strapping gentlemen are fan-favorites for the award. Either that means EoFFers find sex appeal beyond what our skin tells us, or we just have a fetish for mystery men. We know that there are certain things we can do, and some things we cannot. Society itself is built upon the notion of right and wrong, and for the balance to be brought too far in one direction is to open the floodgates for the downfall of civilization. So it gives me a strange kind of pleasure to introduce the following particularly foul individuals. These are the members who choose to embrace their darker sides, to cast aside the beneficial choices that would help their fellow man. They represent greed, anger, destruction; all manner of negativity. Stealing candy from children, tripping over pensioners, stabbing a badger in an eye with a spoon. You name it, these members have probably done it.

So who are these heartless bar stewards? We begin with Bunny, surely a deceptively fluffy name. Do not be fooled, remember the vicious rabbit from The Holy Grail and be wary this seemingly cute individual. Christmas is a time of fun and happiness, where good will and peace are rife. Not here it seems, as all the family arguments, crap toys and vomiting sessions seem to be channeled vicariously through this member. Leeza propagates the use of cats as an avatar, one of the most loved of all animals. But remember those sharp claws and teeth, and the sheer viciousness that this kitty could produce. Mirage(s) have led many a people to their death. Either wandering in the desert to their death or brought to the rocks in an ill-fated ship, this deadly illusion is not to be trusted. Psychotic of course is the very definition of someone who is mentally unstable. Surely for one to be so evil they must lack the basis of a sound mind, making this member a prime candidate? Raistlin revels in the use of pimp similies, those who sell women on the streets. Only someone heartless and purely evil could perpetrate such crimes. Roto13 brazenly throws around the number 13 everywhere. This number has proven unlucky for so many, and could only be the badge of someone who wishes harm on others. rubah is one letter away from sounding like rhubarb. How many times have children been forced to eat this decidedly disgusting vegetable as punishment, thus giving rise to the ideals of torture and other evils? Rye is of course a grain product, but think of how many people these days are allergic to such things. Could this person be secretly causing all kinds of anaphylactic shocks on purpose? ShlupQuack obviously wishes for nothing more than to hear the distinctive “Shlup” noise of a gun fired at one of our poor avian friends. Perhaps I’m being a bit “quackers”, or perhaps this member embodies the very essence of evil. But last, and my no means least (evil), Tavrobel. A re-arrangement of their user name gives us the phrase of Rob Valet, a subliminal message for us to steal from those who nicely park our cars at social gatherings?

These people are sick and twisted. They corrupt the young, bring chaos to the world, and are generally not very nice. But the real question is who is the most evil of all? Can evil even be measured on any scale? Is a person who tells a white lie to get their friend in trouble as evil as someone who nails their wife’s shoes to the floor, thus making her late for work? Such questions cannot be answered in such a short space of time (or even text space). So instead the vote falls to you all. You, who are on the receiving end of these nefarious fiends, must be judge, jury and executioner. Who amongst these members shall be condemned and be named the Most Evil Member, so that whenever they see the golden visage of Cid staring back at them will only see countless eyes pleading for mercy staring back them?

Nicest Member - This award is just asking for a really racy double meaning, but I will refrain completely, to keep this award ceremony rated PG.

Anyway, these members have, in my opinion, the toughest time, because they have to stem the tide against the endless trolling and general nastiness that seems to go along with online communities. Thankfully, these fine members find within themselves the ability to remain compassionate, caring, and upstanding folks who are always around to lend advice, to share a laugh or just to listen. These are the people most of us would want to count among our friends because they allow us to relax and unwind, to feel safe and comfortable and above all else to be there with a kind word and a pat on the back. Oh, wow...Ciddies already. As we all know, the past several months have brought us many newbies. Some lasted a day or two, a week, a month...But there are a select few who have outshined the rest and haven't let their newbie status hinder their EoFF experience. They've lasted months and have made many online friends. This elite group of Newbies has grown to love EoFF, and with their vastly different personalities and flavors, no one can deny their contribution to this forum. They're all deserving of this award, but we know only one can win. BUT STILL, let's give a round of applause to all of our wondeful nominees. There's Bunny, a newcomer who's claims to have been around in EoFF's early days, could quite possibly be true given his oldbie personality. Next we have demondude55, who hasn't even been here for a month, but who's cat macros and less than subtle personality have reserved him a place in all of our hearts. Next we have...Well, me, Dynast-Kid. He was born at *BLANK* Hospital in *BLANK* Tennessee, at 2:09 PM, August 27th. His parents, Deborah and Larry Jr. instilled in him a strong sense of morality and justice that have remained in him since. He has a jovial and upbeat personality that--*Dodges bullets*. Next on our nominee list is my good pal Goldenboko. He joined almost a year ago, and has a charming mein and impeccable writing talents that can't be ignored. On to one of our most eccentric members, TyphoonThaReapa. What is it about him that makes us love him? His thuggish ways? His use of ebonics in posts? His intelligent debates defending Ultimecia as a powerful villian (heh!)? We may never know...And finally, our token female nominee, Vikeve! Vikeve is a colorful member who's comforting aura (Can you sense auras through the Internetz?) and Pelipper ways ahve captivated EoFFers ever since she first joined last July. Yes, it’s the Best Regular award. It’s the kind of people who are always just there. They post in General Chat, they post in The Lounge. If they’re particularly hardcore they may even venture into the actual Final Fantasy-based sections of the forum. Of course they’d be crazy to do so, since only us weird hermit types reside there. Regardless, these are the people who are a standout feature of the community. Through their actions, reactions and…being there-ness, they embody the true meaning of the word “loitering”. So to whom should this dubiously prestigious award go to? Cim raises questions about the pronunciation of their username. Much like great Jif war of 1998 that resulted in the changing of the product to “Cif”, surely by existing Cim will instigate civil war? Actually, probably not, but best keep our eyes out. I Took the Red Pill immortalizes the line of a treacherous scumbag who uses steak to claim that ignorance is bliss with each post. They also shove a great big flag that just plain smacks of “Behold what I have created in letter form!”. Jessweeee expresses obvious joy at just being alive, with an added “weee!” on their username most likely caused as they registered whilst on a slide. Surely this happy-go-lucky attitude is more than enough to establish them as a top contender? NeoCracker brings biscuits firmly into the generic-anime naming future with aplomb, and probably a whole bunch of notable posts to boot. Will this person turn out to be a cracker? Roto13 shows us all that you needn’t avoid numbers to be cool. Some of us may run around with our alphabetic names feeling superior, but this person has taken the plunge, gone right into the hearts of the community, and stuck there. Rocket Edge has the skies set in their eyes, with that special kind of fuel-injected edginess cutting through the night air. A shooting star to be sure, but do they have a wish? Sergeant Hartman gives this group a much-needed sense of military discipline. Drop and give them a thousand push-ups, or maybe a thousand votes? Finally The Fonz, whose jukebox moments and cool hair combing obviously sent your hearts fluttering. Is this going to be a happy day for this cool customer?

Of course those who walk away from this category empty handed will have a hollow sense about themselves. Their hard-earned popularity will be for naught as the masses vote in favour of one of these regulars over the others. But they can take solace in the fact that what they have lost in the real world they have gained in spades in Usernotes and inside-jokes-that-no-one-understands. For the winner however, they represent the pinnacle of pure forum presence. Anyone can be a bystander, but it takes a special kind of person to really stand out from the crowd. But the big question is, who will this be?

I personally find that the word "Veteran" is thrown about too easily these days, like "Legend" and "Love" and other words that should hold great meaning but have become diluted with overuse. Hell, even people who fix bloody broken animals are called called veterans these days! ...huh? what? (I'm in the middle of presenting an award here dude, what the hell you playing at? Oh, Veterinarian? Well bollocks. Just act like nothing happened, no on will notice.) In a time where such words are slapped on everything and everyone that's even slightly applicable, it's hard to find true legends, it's harder to find people who really know what love is. So when you do come across someone who genuinely fits the criteria, you know that you've found something special.

So what does the word "Veteran" mean to me? It means someone who's been through the wars, been through the campaigns, spent time in the trenches and knows every scenario. Someone who's stuck through everything, the good times and the bad times and is still around to tell the tale to the little ones today. The ones who have taken all the hard knocks, been battered down but still pushed through and are still here with us today. And when you browse the list of nominees for this award, I couldn't begrudge any of them their status as Veterans of Eyes on Final Fantasy. Which of them, however, will be taking home the Best Veteran award?

It may be the inimitable Black Mage 121, also known as the mighty Cz. George is a lovely lad, been hanging around EoFF for a while now and will also have the backing of the filthy Arsenal army in his attempt to go for glory. Or maybe the epitome of an EoFF Veteran, Dr Unne, will be taking the title home. Although he hasn't been around much of late, his legacy is well known. edczxcvbnm also has an equally well known legacy, but the two are almost polar opposites. No one who saw it will ever forget the eye-raping they received at the hands of his technicolour forum skin. What Jebus lacks in years spent at EoFF compared to some of his fellow nominees, he makes up for by simply just exuding a sense of 'old'. Seriously, just talk to him in #eoff for 10 minutes.

Meat Puppet has been knocking around the scene for a while now, maybe longer than some people might realise. He is the leading pioneer in the strange phenomenon known as 'usernotes'. Ouch! might consider taking up a career in spying/being a ninja, because I had no idea he'd been around as long as he has (although that's probably more a sign of my old age than a reflection on him). pureghetto seems to me like he's been the token crazy azn guy on EoFF for longer than I can remember back, and it takes effort to be that crazy azn guy for a long time. Rounding us out is Renmiri, who has been around for years but most known to me as the Queen of the FFXII forum, so she's obviously not showing any signs of slowing down just yet.

So there you have it folks, stand to attention and salute these Forum Generals who continue to set the standard for the new generations of posters. God bless them all!

Obviously with this category we have eight candidates who are truly worthy of recognition, for they have already been recognized by our esteemed forums staff for outstanding achievements in the field of excellence. But, in Eyes on Final Fantasy's only fit of democracy which occurs once every six months, the Ciddies, it is up to the people, not a divinely appointed oligarchy, to decide which of these already recognized individuals is the best. Among the candidates this year we have six former Forums Staff and two former/current/whenever they damn well feel like it Site Staff members. Some of these nominees are gone from our lives but still in our hearts (I'm looking at you RSL and Xander and Big D), some are still around and probably will be forever (think Agent Proto, Giga Guess, theundeadhero), and some were gone for a while but then came back to <s>torment</s> grace us with their presence some more (Raistywaisty, Chemmybuns). Will RSL win from his immense popularity and subsequent disappearance?
