Right now I'm at Cleyra Trunk on disk 2, and I have 9 days to finish this game (after that I'll be busy with family things and unable to play until mid-August). Does anyone have any tips that would help finish the main storyline faster? Tips can include ways to quickly beat bosses or powerful enemies, solutions to puzzles, level/equipment/ability/weapon recommendations, and solutions to things that stumped you while playing. I don't usually resort to these kinds of measures, but I don't want to leave the game hanging while I go off and really start forgetting what's going on in the plot. I'm not too concerned about spoilers at this point :p. Thanks in advance!

Get off the forums and play.

Kinda hard, seeing as how family members are sleeping in the room with the games.

Oh. Well the game is pretty straightforward, everywhere you need to go it pretty much tells you. Also, play with the sound off or something.

Dont level up unless if you have to.

Dont flee unless if you have to.

If you fight an undead monster, cast life on it and itll die (a particular boss battle). Use a soft on petrified monsters, (the tree thing I think at the Iifa tree) for an instant kill.

Go, go, go....then level up at Oeilivert...you'll need to. Also, never flee monsters and synthesize many items! You'll do good things with those.

Also, beware of Iifa Tree and Desert Palace-always be on your toes there! In desert palace you need to collect all of the bloodstones, so make sure you do that because going back will waste lots of time.

Try to stick with the more powerful members.

How would that help?

move your TV somewhere else because the music is too good to mute.

I'm on disk 3 (in Alexandria as Vivi), but I found out that I have an extra week to play on top of those 6 days, so I'm pretty sure I'll finish in time :D

Yeah, the music is great . I'm just trying to play as much in the daytime as possible.

EDIT: I'm in Treno right now, about to enter the card tournament. Do I have to win against someone in order to continue the story?

Headphones? It would be a waste to mute it because the music is great and it would take away from the experience.

You need to face the champion in order to continue the story.

In my opinion... you should just play the game at a relaxed pace, enjoying and exploring as you go.
Sure, you won't get to finish it for a couple of months, but you'll appreciate it much more if you don't just rush through in order to complete it as fast as possible.
It'd be worth the wait, to be able to appreciate the story properly:)

I was thinking about doing that, but I've already been playing the game since April (school kept coming in the way of playing more), and I'm kind of tired of dragging it out :-/

Yeah, that part was annoying. I'm not a big fan of card games, so I think I would've preferred another boss fight, with the auto-life ring as a reward :D

Yeah, I know how you feel. When it comes to that point, I usually look at all of the things I can do and pick the ones that look the best. Then I fight the final boss. In FF12's case I didn't feel motivated to do anything else with it, but I finally forced myself to beat it just to be done with it.
