There would be rampant inflation and high unemployment. Furthermore because people wouldn't be home to relax, but instead working to make a living, puppies and kittens would die off. Eventually a clever entrepreneur with the talent and money to develop an automatic feeding system for said puppies and kittens would challenge the power of our great Overlord and succeed in assuming the dictatorial position. This new ruler of <s>Gaia</s> Earth would then vow never to let another puppy and kitten go hungry. Of course being a man of the State he would lie and the cycle would begin anew once more.
