I'm planning on doing a few AMV's of Final Fantasy VIII, does anyone know a site where I can download all the FMV's?

Blue Laguna's Media Archive - Your #1 source for Final Fantasy & RPG media (http://www.bluelaguna.net)
Where in the game does the FMV of the three spaceships launching and carrying Adel's cell into space play?

I'm sure it was either during the Laguna flashback when he is a prisoner/slave/worker at Odine's labatory, and he is asked to lead a resistance movement against Adel, or when he is recounting how he did this, and how he was subsequently made president, to Squall in the Presidential Palace.

It's when you meet Laguna for the first time and ask questions about Raine and ect.

Then there wouldn't need of an 'or' or 'either'.
Just making your life simpler.
Anyway, I'm currently making FMV DVDs of my Final Fantasies with my DVD Recorder.
I can plug them in SD making them alot more visual.
The highest Resolution you can get on a DVD recorder (with enhanced encoder) is 720p, 1080i by puching in the codes (Usually 480p), making absolutly no difference in the game's quality and having a really short DVD, since the space will be taking much faster.
P.S.:If you think I'm ripping off the game's FMV visual effects...
I already own both PS1 and PC version of the games, I doubt this is considered as ''stealing'' if I'm making FMV DVD of My game for personal enjoyment.

If you're making an AMV, please feel free to rip the FMVs yourself, especially if you have the PC version (they're higher quality).
Any AMV making should be made to READFAG (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/), and these gentlemen explain the reasoning behind not using downloaded footage.

Why bother if you already own the PC version?
Just keep track of your FMV by taking additionnal save slots.
Copy and Paste them all in different folders for each disk.
And watch them back whenever you feel like.
It saves up so much time.
Unfortunatly, my disk 2 of my PC version doesn't work and gets stuck at one place, if only I could get past this FMV part (the one where the missils are about to hit.) then I could continue on with the game.
The only way I can think of is having another disk and my save file to continue it...

Thanks for the help, I don't own the PC version, but, thanks anyway. I have made AMV's with Zelda speedruns before, but SDA didn't have any runs of FF8.

How do you rip the movies off the PC version? Unlike the PC version of FFVII, I seem to be unable to access the movies directly off the game discs.

That's because they're put in an archive file, and encoded with a proprietary format called Bink. FF7 just used an inferior encoder and stored them as avi files, both of which most computers already have codecs and splitters for. That's also why we can get videos in twice the resolution and fewer compression artefacts on FFVIII PC, without it needing more storage space.

That really depends on the system you have and it's capacities.
Playstation: PS1/PS2/PS3
PC: Graphic Card/Processor/ect...
Currently, the best graphics you can get is a PS3 (due to HD).
For me, since I don't have a PS3, it's my PC.

No, it doesn't depend on the system's capabilities, the PC version has the highest quality CG videos. The PS2 doesn't change the video quality at all, and the PS3 only interpolates it, it doesn't increase the quality.

How are you supposed to rip the FMVs with a ps3?

Maybe he thought the contents of the CDs would get changed if he bought a PS3.
