in the beginning, he was stabbed by Gabranth and then we see Vaan in that white room with Reks. Then Reks disappeared into light particles. What the heck was all that about? So did Reks die from the wound or what?

i'm also curious as i've just got to that scene again. i just noticed he brought him the lillies from the desert that he picked up that 1st day when he fights the rogue tomato. Did Reks die that day? did vaan bring it to the room thinking about him? or are these 2 completely different days? Or 3 (1st day in the game, him bringint he lillies, and reks dying)?

Basch states he was around long enough to confirm what the Empire wanted about Basch being a traitor, then he croaked. That white particle crap was in Vaan's head. He had been dead for a long time when you start controlling Vaan.

Yeah, he made it to the hospital but both the wound and his broken heart for seeing his hero kill someone kinda did him in.

so basically, he merely fainted when he got stabbed? then he was taken to the hospital where Vaan visited him but he was mentally disturbed and died from the shock?

I thought the hospital was something I thought was in FFXII but was confusing it with a scene from a movie but now I know I'm not crazy,well not crazy on this ocassion.

I interpreted it in a different way. I thought that Vaan finding Galbana Lillies in the desert after the hunt triggered a flashback of him visitng Reks during his last few days, with Reks surviving after being stabbed, but later dying from his wound.

The only unusual thing was that it didnt seem like a normal hospital room, if I remember correctly. I thought it had 1 chair in a massive room, without even a bed. Strange.


Whether he went to hospital and died, or whether he died a while after without going to a hospital (if they even exist?) does not affect the main storyline, so its not a big issue.

I read somewhere that the Ultimania guide says that Reks died from medications that the Empire was giving him :confused:
