What three characters do you use?

I was just wondering what characters people normally go for?

I normally have a Cloud/Barret/Tifa setup until I get Vincent, and then swap Tifa for Vincent... it's only because I like the characters not to do with battle and such... how about you guys?

Cloud, Cid, and Yuffie

Yuffie's speed is unmatched. I gave her mostly healing and support magic.

Cloud was a tank. I gave him 4x Slash.

Cid was a mage-esque.

I rotate on each playthrough; usually by the time I've left Midgar for the first time I've decided who's gonna be used. Having used Vincent and Cait Sith the least in the past, I'm gonna use them on my next playthrough... I consider their Limit Breaks to be pretty high-risk, especially since I currently have no memory card and am gonna therefore attempt a no-save, whole game in a day challenge in the near future, so it should be interesting, and serve as an adequate test of just how good I really am at this game :)

for storyline, cloud tifa and vincent, cos they tie in with a lot off the stuff like the neibelheim incident.

for battles, cloud cid and barret for highwind and ungarmax limits. MX DAMAGE!!! :D

I used yuffie and red, because they are both very strong atttackers, and I usually only attack with monster battles.

Nanaki- at the begining of the game he was my strongest character, so I guess he stuck.

I always stick with Cloud, Barret, and Yuffie until the date scene in hopes of actually seeing the Barret or Yuffie one somewhere other than Youtube.

After that I might switch out Barret for Cid or Cait Sith.

i allways use aerisuntill she dies but ill allways use the charrictors need at varius points like ill train barret before i get to north coral red XIII before cosmo etc..

I always use Cloud, because you have to, Yuffie, because she is fast, and I rotate the third slot around. Haven't played in a while though.

When I played the first time, it was usually Cid and Red XIII. Now I usually use Cid and Barret/Tifa.

It was always Cloud, Tifa and then either Cid or Vincent....

Now on newer games I tend to sub Tifa for Yuffie due to the high dodge/luck she has & her high damage.

I rotate them throughout the game. Try to keep their stats about even, so I have who I need when I need them. The only character I don't use is Cait Sith. Well, you have to to get out of Junon after being arrested, but I assure you that as soon as possible, I get him out of my party. I wish he'd have stayed dead at the Temple of the Ancients.

After Aeris dies, I use Cloud, Tifa, and Vincent.

Since then I've used everyone at least once to go through the game. But most recently I used Cloud, Cid and Yuffie.

For me it used to always be Cloud, Cid, and Red XIII for years.

However, I sometimes use Barret in place of Red XIII now because of his limit breaks.

I sometimes use Yuffie from time to time also.

I very rarely use Vincent and Tifa, although I don't mind them.

I never use Cait Sith, don't like him much.

I usually give every character a chance though, and spend time training certain characters for when they are needed in the game - for example, today I trained Barret just before batteling Dyne. I killed Dyne with 1 hit, which was Barret's Ungarmax limit (technically multiple hits, but one command).

If I was to go through it again I'd try use them all equally.

I've just started a new game & at the moment I have Cloud, Barret & Aeris... coz I know I will HAVE to have Aeris in my party at one point... & then have to use Tifa in my party sometime after her.

But, after that, I usually have Cloud, Barret & Vincent. I may change it this time though.

Only Cloud and his BIG SWORD. I leave the rest dead for aesthetic reasons. They are just unbearable compared to the magnificent BIG SWORD that Cloud uses.
