Since Square doesn't have anything on the Wii, I need a good RPG suggestion from you all!!! What game do you find essential for the Final Fantasy Fangirl?

right now all you got is super paper mario, and that's not really an RPG
or just play Tales of Symphonia for the Cube on your Wii!!!!

Super Paper Mario is extremely fun and addictive. And yes it's an RPG; just not in a traditional sense. It has every element of an RPG except for random encounters. So if Zelda or Musashi are considered 'Action-RPGs' then I guess Super Paper Mario would be a 'Platform-RPG'.

In any case, that's the closest thing you're going to get in terms of RPG for the Wii right now. That and Twilight Princess.

Release Dates (http://www.rpgamer.com/games/release.cgi)
Go to this website and search using these parameters: "Nintendo Wii", "All", and "US". It will list all Nintendo Wii rpg's released and to be released, sorted by their US release date.

Then go to this website...
Main Page - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org)
On that site, type in the name of any game you like to get information about it.

Then go to Game Reviews from Metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/games) and Game Rankings - Video Game Reviews, Release Dates, Cheat Codes (http://www.gamerankings.com) and type in the game you like and they will list the average of critical reviews and user reviews for the game and you will see how good the ratings are.

After this, go to the official game website if you are interested and get more information.

After this, go to YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. (http://www.youtube.com) and look for gameplay footage and trailers for any game you are interested.

Afer this, try renting a game before buying it. So far for Wii I recommend: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Paper Mario. They have one other rpg that they have released: Pokemon Battle Revolution, but it isn't too important. Later this year look out for Alien Syndrome and Fire Emblem, although I am not sure how important those two games are. Next year look out for Opoona, Dragon Quest Swords, and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles 2, although I am not sure yet also about those games.

I recommend you buy a Xbox 360 and view my thread in this forum that says more information about this topic...

Because, y'know, traditional RPGs require the use of just about every button on the controller. It's not as if, you know, you can get through an entire RPG with maybe using three different buttons and the D-pad/Analog Stick.

an rpg would work really well, especially a traditional one. You'd only need 1 button really, and otherwise you could point the remote at everything else, and hit the button to select lol.

There aren't likely to be many RPGs on the Wii. Certainly not in the early yaers. Why? It goes against the ethos of the system. RPGs are usually pretty heavy time investments. They're almost always single-player. Some can take quite a bit of min-maxing. The Wii is meant to be a lighthearted, 'party' system with games you can play for short periods of time, not seriously, and play with friends.

Of course the Wii can handle RPGs just fine. It's the marketing side of things. RPGs don't need to be made for the Wii because that demographic is quite a bit behind the main targets of the console.

The last two Nintendo consoles didn't get many RPGs in general, either. Anyone who says an RPG wouldn't work on the Wii has obviously not spent much time with the system. For one, there's the option of the Classic Controller, and two, you can do quite a lot with the Wiimote. Turning it on its side worked marvelously for Super Paper Mario, and it's far more action-oriented than a typical RPG.

I hope Camelot makes an RPG for the Wii, though it probably won't happen. But I'm sure plenty of SNES RPGs will make their way to the VC in time, and there's Dragon Quest, and I'm sure more will come in the future, but it's going to be a slow trickle. I'd definitely look for some old used GameCube RPGs that you can pick up for a bargain, though it's rather slim pickings for the GameCube, as well.

Tales Of Symphonia on GC will keep myou hooked for months, that is all you need as games go for the next month or two, period.
