My friend and I got into an argument about how much HP Chaos had. I insisted it was 4000, while he maintained 2000. I said, "You wanna bet?"

He said, "Sure."
I said, "Name your wager."
He said, "$10."

So, after the bet was placed and we shook hands, I opened the Final Fantasy Origins guide which clearly stated he had 4000 HP.

So, in retaliation, he goes to an internet FAQ site, which stated Chaos had 2000 HP.

So, I take the DVD of my victory of the game and add up the damage I did to Chaos with a calculator who falls after 4000 HP of damage.

He goes to another FAQ which states 2000 and offers to take a draw stating that the reason we don't agree is that it was 2000 on NES and 4000 on PlayStation. I queried as to why they would make him so easy in the NES version when he was way too easy in the PlayStation version anyway, stating that there was no way he could possibly be as easy as 2000 HP.

Long story short, I took the draw. Was I wrong to do this? Did I actually win this bet? What do you think?

I think all bets should end up with somebody doing something naked.

Just because he has less hp doesnt make him easier. I dont think something is a serious bet unless souls are wagered

eoff front site says 2000
eoff front site is law

Chaos has 2000 HP in the original NES version of FFI; however, he often casts CUR4 as he gets low on health, which makes it seem as though he has 4000 HP.

Yes. In addition, GBA Chaos has 20,000 HP, which really isn't so much since your melee fighters are hitting in the 1000 range as opposed to the 300 range.

NES. 2,000
GBA. 20,000
Origins. ???? i wouldn't know but is it origins that has 4000HP?

or is it only 2 and 20 thousand?

does the 4000 actually exist somewhere or is that just people getting the idea because he heals?

i've heard all 3 numbers before. i think they all exist somewhere.

They hit in the 1000 range in the NES version too. 20,000 HP makes it a bitch because you have to restore HP for a hell of a lot of attacks. No White Mage = very tough final battle.

Basically, since you didn't specify for which system, you both are correct since he has 2000 in the NES version and 4000 in the origins version.

I specified the systems to which we were each referring in my original post here, but when we made the bet, there were no specifications made because we both believed our answer was the only answer.

So yeah. To accept his offer of a draw was the right thing for me to do. Thanks.

In the older games, it was 2,000.
In the newer scrub-itixed versions, it's more than 2,000.

Seriously folks, we've already determined what the hit points are on the various versions. Why respond if you're going to repeat what's already been stated?

Someone posted two hours before you, it wasn't in danger of dying.

It's my thread. It's served its purpose. I say it can die now. May this be the last post.

Of course, that being said, someone else will surely post here even so.

Your biggest mistake was posting, you see, I subscribe to these things whenever I post. Muahahaha! Well, since we're on the topic of CHAOS, which one do you think was easier?

Are you going to get angry at me because I made a typo? If so I must Chocometeor you now.
