Can I get a hell yeah? Nintendo apparently showed this off at a pre-E3 meeting (http://www.joystiq.com/gallery/golden-sun-ds/307649/). It's about damn time. The first two games in this series would definitely be in my Top 10 RPGs ever. Thank god Nintendo pulled Camelot off whatever crap they've been developing and put them back on what they should've been working on for the past three years. :p And with the GBA slot in the DS, they should be able to use the completion data. Glad I saved that cart.

Anyone else excited?

Fantastic! I'm so excited! I haven't been this happy about the announcement of a video game since Smash Bros. Brawl.

Ouch!

Great news.

Golden Sun was one of the first great games to grace the GBA, and both games are among my most cherished for it. Hopefully the DS installment will live up to its predecessors.

Only thing is, I hear it connects with the Lost Age in the GBA slot, transfer data or whatever... if so, I completely dominated the game, characters way stronger than they should be lol

I hope I'm not toooo strong for this one when the connectivity stuff comes along

It's fake, however. For one, only one site reported this and why the heck don't they use new artwork instead of TLA artwork? And on gameFAQs they studied these pics a bit and found some mistakes with it, like: in GS:TLA, there's a (c) symbol next to 2001-2003 NIntendo/CAMELOT. There is no (c) symbol in that picture.

No other site knows about this so far, there are things wrong with it so there's a cruel person out there that just enjoys torturing GS fans. I say we cook him alive. If it's real though (despite everthing pointing to it that it's another fake), I'll jump through my roof, I swear it.

Would be cool if this is real. I've seen a couple of comments that say it's fake. If I could see the pics myself...

Maybe I should finish the second one.

:( is it only for the DS?

Gosh, Paint is so old school.

Anyway, so far it's just a rumour so dont' get your hopes/worries up. The next 'Golden Sun' is likely to come out on either the DS or Wii, so be prepared for that. Not too much 'serious' stuff coming out for GBA anymore.

If it is fake I will be a sad panda. It seems to make sense it would be in the works, given how long it's been since the second game, and the screen looked fairly legit.

And now after doing a bit of research, it looks like Camelot may have split ways with Nintendo last year, and the screenshot here obviously has some relation to this unofficial mock-up (http://www.vgboxart.com/boxes/Wii/5276-orig.jpg).

Sorry for the false alarm. :( I guess this is a case of "if it seems too good to believe, it probably is."

Yeah, Camelot isn't a Nintendo-exclusive developer anymore, but so far they haven't confirmed a death to the Wii RPG they're making.

They seem to be spending all their time on a PC MMO golf game.

This thread makes me cry... :(

Meh. It would've taken more than another GS game to make me buy a DS. If FFIII couldn't do it, I don't think it will ever happen.

Let's say this game isn't a rumor for argument sake

this, FFIII DS and FFIV DS wouldn't be enough for you?
Not to mention all the other great games

Or how about FF XII:RW, FFCC:Ring of Fates, and FFTA2? Or even DQ IX? It's still not enough?

I would give up every other GBA and DS game I own to acquire a new Golden Sun.

Whichever person designed this is mean and cruel and should be punished. Stop getting our hopes up!

NO. One of the things i like about the games is that they don't imply an indefinite number of cruddy sequels.

I'd settle for a new RPG from the same team.

No, but they do imply one truly awesome sequel. Alex versus Isaac for the power of the Golden Sun. You can't really think he died when Mt. Aleph collapsed, do you? Or that he will be willing to let Isaac keep half of the power that he has been trying to acquire for so long? No, a showdown is coming, and it will be wonderful.
