Well, there was a Wii Zapper last year at E3 as well, which all of us saw most likely. Here are both the Zappers:

New Design

Personally, I like the newer one more. It seems as though it would be a lot better, as your left hand could still be used for moving around. Also, since both designs merely change the way you hold the same peripherals () The newer version is better, as it allows the B button to be used for shooting rather than the Z button, so it won't feel awkward if you don't have the peripheral and you're playing an FPS.

So, which one do you like more? Single-Handed version or Double-Handed version?

Newer design looks like a gun :P

The newer version looks to be the better of the two, but I still lack to see a reason to buy the Zapper when free handing it works just fine.

I haven't tried, but neither of them look as easy to use as the standard setup...

It all depends on implementation. Personally, I would love a one handed controller, but it would require games to be designed properly to get full use out of it. Not only would half the controls be cut out, but (with the design of the first controller), it would be the Wii-mote's controls that are removed, leaving only the nunchuck's controls. I'm also not sure how well balanced either of those are, and they might not be that comfortable.

The second looks better than the first, though I doubt either is overly comfortable. I fail to see the point in either in them as well. Free hand it, or spend $20 on an unecessary piece of plastic? Let me think about that one...

I like the second one. Seems like it would be more comfortable, and easier to use. I might get one for RE4, or some other shooter they come out with.

The only kind of game I can see wanting to use something like the Zapper for would be a Virtua Cop/Time Crisis/whatever lightgun shooter, and I think the first model would be far better for that. I don't want to hold some lightweight piece of plastic with both hands like it's a rifle or something.

The Zapper (2nd one) will come packed-in with some Wii software. If any part of that software is Duck Hunt, I am sold.

Otherwise, freehand.

GunCon, tbh.

The one-handed one looks tacky, but the two-handed one looks even tackier.

I'll stick with my NES Zapper :)

GunCon, tbh.

GunCon rox. 'Cept GunCon doesn't work on HDTVs. GunCon 3 fixes it--by making it a Wiimote (http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/06/how_the_guncon_.html).

Is there a "neither" option? :P

If I had to vote, I'd say old. I just like one handed designes more.
