Invincible's Mountain Hopping... ?

Whenever I press A, it just goes up and then down again, how does this work?

The mountain passages must be narrow. Get really close to the narrow mountains and press A. It should hop over.

It has to be a little mountain. The invincible is quite disappointing.

Make sure your ship is facing towards the mountain and that the mountain is small enough, and then press A. That should do it, but remember, the Invincible can only hop over 1-3 tiles or so.
