Because it's an Xbox 360 exclusive, and you probably don't care about Xbox 360.

Project Sylpheed is not so hot, btw. (If you have a 360, you can download the demo off of Live.) However, I may buy it in the future when the release calender lightens up, because it's a 'cheaper' 360 game and I want to support more of the slightly obscure Japanese games that actually make it out to the US. Heck, I bought Earth Defense Force 2017 (loved it) and WarTech: Senko no Ronde (didn't like it) when they came out. On to older Japanese Xbox stuff, I snapped up Phantom Dust as soon as it came out, and that was definitely one of the last gen's hidden gems. The Otogi series was also one of my favourites.

I gave Project Sylpheed a temporary 'pass' because I didn't like the demo, and with Ace Combat 6 coming out (also a demo on Live) it just doesn't compare. Besides, there are folks who would pick it up just because Squenix is on the box. I'll let the sheep do their thing.

Note--it's not an RPG. It's a space flight shooter.

It's also only published by Square, not developed by them, if that makes a difference. It was pretty, and the big problem I had with the demo was that you couldn't change the controls, so you couldn't reverse the vertical axis to make the ship fly like a plane. If the real game allowed that, which I'm sure it would, it would be much more playable in an instant.

This thread, and the fact most people here are unaware of silpheeds legacy of being positively average, makes me feel feel very very old.

The original Silpheed (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/segacd/data/587995.html)was published for a system you youngins may not have heard of; The Sega CD. It was a decent game that had the selling point of being more fun to look at then it was to play once upon a time. This was way back in 1993 I think.

Then came the Pseudo sequel (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/data/250624.html)for the PS2. nothing special.

And now project sylpheed (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/data/932514.html). Is sega making money off this, or did they sell the liscense to whoever did the PS2 version?

Hmmm, maybe Sega should do a Sega CD compilation. There are still a few decent titles from that wreck of a system that havn't been ported yet.

Besides, there are folks who would pick it up just because Squenix is on the box. I'll let the sheep do their thing.

I wonder, if people had done that nine years ago, maybe we would have a Einhander (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/data/197217.html)sequel instead of a third Silpheed title. ahhh tis a beautiful dream.

If you like Blue Dragon, look into Eternal Sonata this fall, and Lost Odyssey.

Me(this fall)=Blue Dragon, Zelda: PH, Lost Odyssey, FF XII: RW.
