K, I broke down and got a facebook. >_> Now, I don't want to be one of those horrible people who sends emails to everyone on their list to brag that they've joined the latest dumbass networking site. I'm at a screen where it's asking me to give it my email password so it can check my contact list and see how many of my contacts have Facebooks. Will this send that god-forsaken email to everyone?

No, it'll check who of those people are already on Facebook and ask you whether or not you want to get them on your friends-list. Then you'll be given an option to invite people from your addy list, who are not on Facebook yet.

No worries, Facebook is quite a bit more reasonable than MySpace. You'll see why once you try joining a network.

Facebook is much less skanky. Spend two minutes on myspace and two minutes on facebook and you can tell. I could.

All social networking sites are evil, their like forums only for University students :(

I prefer the look of myspace but myspace is trash compared to facebook.

The more you know.

ps: don't sign up for that feature since what it is meant to do isn't something you will do anyway.

Hmm... Facebook is neat. I've met people there which I haven't seen for ages... It's fun too. *student*:p

I don't think you have to send that email to everyone. I've always managed to get out of it when I've encountered windows like that.

Facebook, right now, is a lot better than Myspace imo (cleaner look, less junk, no required "Top Friends" bs), though the mini-feed still kind of worries me and the applications make it seem more like Myspace (though some of them are really addictive...) -_-

You can actually turn off the "mini-feed" from displaying your changes.:p

I make a point of not accepting any application requests :p So then I only have to wade through them if I'm looking at other people's profiles.
