Let's play a game.

For this game, you may not resort to dictionaries or encyclopedias, or any kind of authority on any subject. All you are allowed to use is your mind and what you alread know.

The game is simple. I will post a word in this first post, and you will reply with your definition of that word! Now, don't go and read everyone else's because you're lazy or you don't know it, that's not the point of the game.

The point of the game is not to correctly define the word, but see how much a word's definition will be different between different people. I won't give whether it's a verb or noun or what it is. Part of this is seeing what definition springs to your mind first, if you know multiple ones.

So we'll start with an easy one :)

A dog is a canine mammal and a quadruped. They have been domesticated by humans over time and are often described as being "man's best friend." Dogs have been bred for different purposes over the years, and the smallest recorded dog could fully grown fit into a plastic beaker, whilst the larger dogs can place their paws on a persons shoulders. Whilst the variety of dogs and breeds of dogs are monumental, every dog has on average a 2% genetic difference from a wolf.

/me tries harder

a dog is quadrupedal, semi-omnivorous, usually furred animal from 5-200 pounds that lives usually around 10-20 years. in nature, dogs tend to live in a packlike structure and hunt co operatively to bring down larger animals, though this behaviour has suffered somewhat due to socialization and taming. people over centuries bred and tamed wild dogs such as coyotes or wolves selectively to produce many types of dogs for many various tasks to aid them in their lives and provide simple companionship. also the word dog is used to describe a male who is promescuous, or aspires to be. the word is used in phrases such as dog-tired, and words such as hot dog, though i'm not sure why a sausage-like food is named such. also the word 'dogged' always escapes my use as i just dislike the sound of it. dog spelled backwards is god, but i'm sure the etymology of both words stem from different beginnings, and as such there is no meaningful connection there.

i don't like dogs.
