At school Firefox works fine but they have made it so that any URL or page with the word "game" in it will immediately close Firefox right away.

I was wondering if there was anything I could do to disable this. :-)

I believe if I disable a certain something on about:config then it should stop but I don't know what to disable.

You could see what plugins are installed, and try disabling all except what you need or know to be safe, assuming it is a plugin that's doing it, and not a 3rd party external app :p What plugins are installed? :p

Have you tried Proxy sites such as http://hidemyass.com (hidemyass.com) or http://www.miaoweb.net? It's possible that your school's blocked some proxy sites, but I'm sure if you search hard enough you can find an unblocked one.

Hmm... this sounds like a weird idea to block away the word "game". I mean, if I wanted to do some research on Roman gladiators this would surely become a problem.

School's aren't particularly smart in their internet abusage. At my high school, anything with the word journal or blog was blocked, presumably so people couldn't read xangas, but if anyone was writing intelligent articles in their blogs, you couldn't access them :p
