So, who do you think was the most intense, mind-bogglingly badass character in any movie?

To me, I don't think anyone will top The Stranger from High Plains Drifter.

Wow, this is actually quite difficult. I'd like to opt with Kiriyama like others, but I'd like to at least throw some names into the mix myself. Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, perhaps? Rex Kramer from Airplane! was pretty badass (actually, I just like him beating up all those people at the airport). Yet how no one has mentioned Mr. Blonde yet is beyond me.

John McClane was also pretty badass, let's be honest.

Tony Jaa is a total monster as well. The elbows, knees, wooden arm things and fire legs of death = total bad man

Chris Tucker - Rush Hour.

A bit of humor counts as badass for me.

Yes, and so is Sarah Connor.

Other than that; pretty much every character from any Tarantino movie.

Kiriyama from Battle Royale.

You thought he was badass in the film? You should read the graphic novel, he's friggin' godlike.

Kiriyama from the film has more badass attitude than missing-part-of-brain-no-emotion Kiriyama from the book, even if he is still a beast.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

Can't believe I forgot Kurt. :(

As for people saying Kiriyama: No. He might be hardcore, that doesn't make him A) a badass or B) anything except a really fucking annoying deus ex machina.

The terminator.

The T-1000 took the crown of Arnold fair and square.

Ellen Ripley is badass in her own wonderful way.

But Vasquez is just genuinely badass.
