Do you ever think of any words that sound funny? I think of a word and then say it over and over in my mind until sounds really weird. Funny word: stinky

The Irish word for girl is cailin. But grammar-wise it's a masculine noun...

I know what you mean hambone about saying some words so many times and thinking hard about them till they make no sense.

so oatmeals in a sense, porridge with flavours (not that you cant add flavour to porridge.) and often instant. i dont know if its made up with milk or water or not but anyway. i guess everyone knows this anyway!

gooseberries! They sound funny and its pronunciation can be all sorts of random rubbish!

well there's oatmeal which is ground oats, and oatmeal cereal, which is basically the same as porage.

Oddly enough, this word popped into my mind as soon as I read the thread title.

I rather enjoy saying "did" as well.

I just remembered: the English word "claymore", which is a bloody massive sword, comes from Scots and Irish Gaelic.

Claymore: claidheamh mór. Literally, "big sword".

Smuggle and muffler always crack me up. Alot of 'P' 'U' words are totally rediculous sounding too. Like Pubic and Public. I mean, what the crap!? :jess:

(I've been trying to use that word as often as possible since I learned it four years ago =D)

Any word can start sounding kind of like it's made up if you say it to yourself enough.
Who created the word "Blog," anyways?
