Welcome to the 3rd ever Ragtimer thread!

For newcomers this is a simple game where your knowledge of FFIX by answering questions. Let's go over the rules...
One of these threads was once closed because of off topic chatter, so no of topic chatter UNLESS its paired with an answer or a question about the thread...

Ex

OOC: lol yeah right.

Hey GB, I thought _____ was right as well

The point system works like this
1 point for... Answering a question correctly, or Noticing an error in my question
2 points for... Noticing an error in my question, and answering the question correctly.
3 points for... Finding my answer to be incorrect and providing a correct answer and a source to back up your correction.
I will wait a little while and declare all who answered it correctly with points... please though hide your answers in spoiler tags, unmarked answers=No points.

Now, for old time sake the first question...

Q1. What must you do to encounter the Ragtimer?

Heath

Just have to wander around in a forest on the world map, don't you?

demondude

But demondude, that question doesn't count for errors seeing as it was copy and pasted from the last two >.<

TheSpoonyBard

The lower your weapon's attack power is, the more damage your weapon will do, so equipping absolute basic weaponry will make you stronger... for now. The dungeon's treasure chests give weapons you the weakest possible weapons for each character in the hopes that you'll catch on, and the Mogshop sells everyone's second-weakest weapons, plus there's a sign at the beginning telling you this in riddle form.

Q26. Meteor is what type of attack (Fire, water, etc.)?

TheSpoonyBard

Non-elemental, deals a random amount of damage, and may miss the target completely.

Laddy

It is non-elemental. It is also unusually unpredictable, which is why I stay away from it. :p

Anytime on Disc 1, when you can then Steal one from Beatrix in Burmecia, then right up until reaching Treno in Disc 2 which is your first opportunity to buy one. Once you reach Disc 4, they will no longer be in the shop in Treno. Alexandrian Soldiers, among others, sometimes drop its card. I believe they're the first to do so.

Mythril annoys me because there's about eight different ways to spell it, and yours doesn't match this particular game.

I don't understand how that's a true or false question, but I'll give it my best shot.

Highest mandatory boss HP: Maliris, 59,497
Highest optional boss HP: Quale, 65,535

Absolutely any amount, from 0-9999, making it random.

TheSpoonyBard
09-13-2007, 04:30 PM
If there were no damage caps and Vivi's Magic could reach 99, the damage can range between 88 and 17,336. However, as there are caps, it stops at 9,999. The formula is 88 * Bonus, where Bonus can vary between 1 and (Caster's Level + Caster's Magic) - 1.

leader of mortals
09-17-2007, 12:58 AM
errbetween 0(misszorz) and 9999, depending on his level I think(and magic of course). I've always done more damage at a higher level.

Goldenboko
10-14-2007, 06:24 PM
You were all very close, and get one point for saying 0-9999. But the only person who was 100% right was Endless., because it can hit 0, but it cannot hit certain low numbers because of its formula. At level 99 these numbers would range from 1-88, but it can still miss. So 1 point to everyone, except Endless. who gets 2.
