i was planning on it because i heard they were adding a bunch of crap to it and theres not many good ds games out there (besides kirby and mario cart)

Like people say, it depends on how FF4 does, but it wouldn't surprise me if they're already doing so. Still, I have FF's 1-6 in handheld format, and no amount of additional dialogue is going to justify buying 4 for me again.

That would be interesting to see but I don't like the fact that V and VI remakes on PS3 would make buying the PS3 a priortiy.:cry:

III DS was incredible and I am looking forward to IV DS more than any other game, SE is currently working on right now.

Same here, FFTA2 does come close however, looking very forward to that one as well.

As for V DS. If IV sells well, we'll probably see it. As for the idea of V remade in 3D... 3D Gilgamesh in his FF V glory? Yes please.

Like many others have said, I think SE will remake FFV and FFVI for DS if FFIV DS sells well enough. However, it will take a while, at least a few years or so, to reach European stores. Doesn't matter, though, since I don't have a DS anyway. :/

Hmm, I know it's kinda illegal but... DS emulators are really advancing. I know one that can play FF XII RW at a very acceptable speed, you just can't save (yet). =/

It's only a matter of time before FF III DS and the other DS Final Fantasy games become fully playable through emulation...

Yes. We are all HOPING for FF V and VI to be on the PS3, however get real. Seriously. SE is having to be forced to do a FF VII remake (by an online petition that you should all sign). They will continue the trend of making the SNES games on the DS.

seriously, I'm not hoping for them to be on the PS3, they'd probably do better on the Wii or 360, but far better on the DS, so that's where I expect them

PSP has Dissidia FF as well. ;)

And for DS you've forgotten FFTA2 and FF CC RoF. Also "It's a wonderful world" and all the DQ games, but those are no FF games.

The DS does have massive SE support, but the PSP is catching up. Don't forget that FFVII game with Zack, as well as the ones you've mentioned. Also, don't forget the Mana games on the DS- there not Final Fantasy, but the show Square support.

Anyway, In my opinion, they won't swich consoles suddenly in the process of remaking a series (yeah, ok, FF1 and FF2 went to the PSP, but a) The're already on the GBA and b) Sqaure decided to remake 3 alone on the DS, because it hadn't been remade before- so the remakes on the DS start with FFIII). So i think that V will be remade on the DS, but i'm unsure about VI. Theres somthing about it that wouldn't be suited to the cute, childlike characters of the DS remakes. I think that they'll leave this one be. Or, alternativly, they might go to the PSP, but remake it in 2D, like FF1- i would really like that, even though i don't have a PSP (DS all the way!), because i don't like the idea of FFVI in 3D, they would somhow screw up the design of the characters. I just can't imagine it working.

As soon as FFIV was announced for the DS I gathered that it would just start a trend of Square-Enix releasing new versions of the old SNES games because they know that they'll probably sell quite well. I'm looking forward to how IV turns out but I'm not sure if I'll actually buy it. I wouldn't mind playing V on the DS though.

But don't forget that they also favour Sony with the main FF titles (and most of the main DQ titles) since 1997...
Nintendo gets the biggest slice of the general SE cake in the handheld market.

I see what you mean, but SE does give NIntendo more Handheld lovin'. But with the main FF's with Sony, I think we all know who they favour ;) Hopefully Sony's sales will pick up and SE will give them even more lovin'

I'll just keep hoping. Now that I actually own a DS for III and IV I'm having one hell of a hard time tracking down the GBA versions... I hate how the first six FFs, when made available, stayed available for such short periods of time in the PAL regions! Bastards! Always released close to the end of a console's run, either on PSX or GBA!

VII for DS would be funny; the graphics would probably look even worse :P

IF V and VI go to the DS, I hope they don't use the same graphics they've been using (III DS/IV DS) for VI. I don't MIND the graphics style, but it's way too cartoony for VI's plot...

If V DS used the same art style as III and IV I wouldn't mind so much . . . but VI defnately needs to be slightly less cartoony. Really, I wish they could have designed the graphic style for IV DS to look more like the cut sceens. I understand that it can't be as high res, but at least that same style and sort of porportions. The cartoony style was a slight turn off.

The VI remake should keep sprites similar to how they looked in the intro of the PSX version.

Although, when thinking of FF8's attempt at realistic graphics, I'm not so sure...
