For those who are planning to play this recently released JP exclsusive version of FF XII, Gamefaqs have already translated the License Boards for each job and you can use this for reference. Keep in mind though, that once you pick a job for a certain character, you have to stick with it throughout the entire game.

Did the put in a new way to get into Barheim even if you sold the Serpent Skin?

I heard almost all of the Gambits are available from the start now, too. That would make magic much more viable, as many of the magic-related Gambits didn't pop-up until the game was already over.
I wish I could play this. I tried forcing myself into jobs, but my willpower is not up to the task. I need the game to do it for me, blargh! :sophia:

You can still get to Barheim if you sell the skin, you just get a lower quality prize from Dantro's wife

By the way, what is a Shikari and an Uhlan? Is that what they call ninja/thieves and dragoons in this game?

Pardon the double post
There's actually a second method to obtaining the Zodiac Spear in this version. It's located in the Henne Mines. The arrow on this map is it's location. It's a 1% chest spawn though

Urghh! I HATE the way they assigned the jobs to the Zodiac signs! They make NO sense! When I heard they were doing this, I thought they were going to use traditional astrological principles to determine and interpret which jobs go with which sign/personality. I guess they didn't though. 'Cause I mean, Virgo would SO be a White Mage if they did it the way I thought. And Aquarius would be the Machinist, and Aries the Knight etc.

So have they actually added anything significant to this game beyond fixing a few balancing issues that should have been fixed for the original version anyway? Compared to other international editions of SE games, this one seems like a ludicrous waste of money.

Do you consider Trial Mode, Weak Mode, and Strong Mode significant?

Boss rushes are pretty standard features. It would depend if there were any new bosses in there.
Ouch!

It's well worth it IMO. It blows the original out of the water.

Well, in the 100th level of Trial Mode, you get to fight all 5 Judges if you want to consider that new. You couldn't fight 2 of them in the main story IIRC.
Strong Mode is new game+, where you start off at Level 90, however you must get all licenses, weapons, etc. again. Weak mode, you don't get any experience AT ALL.

Do the characters wear different outfits depending on the job? That would be one of the reasons I'd wanna get this tbh XD
Also Leo is a Knight? Bleh I get the boring one.
EDIT: This won't come out in Europe anyway I need to calm down.

No. Appearance doesn't change
EDIT - A couple of posts ago, I mentioned that the hidden Necrohol of Nabudeus merchant's location has been changed and I even provided a video. So here's a pic of the exact location of that hidden merchant. Also, in that little room, is the location of the Ensanguined Shield, which is a 3% chest spawn.

I've been going back and forth with whether or not to buy this game...I know all of the extras and stuff...so this thread was nothing new. The biggest con I have against it is the same most non-Japanese fans have: that the LBs, quotes, gameplay, etc. is ALLLL in Japanese. :S That's just too much for me. Still...it would be worth it on some points even with the lacking translation. Why o why couldn't they just throw in an option the way they did in X: International? = \]
