This game is set to be released on the Xbox 360 and PC sometime around the holiday of this year. If, however, you are familiar with how Ubisoft works you will probably expect the date to be delayed.

Firstly, the game is going in a completely different direction and that may be a good thing hopefully. The goggles (which were Sam Fisher's trademark) are now seemingly gone. Speaking of his appearance, that has changed too; although that is a minor alteration.

Secondly, what was cool and stealthy about the series is that you could hide in the security of shadows should things become too rough. Now, you are pretty much forced into light and fend for yourself without the help of a reassuring [Lambert's] voice in your ear. There's a need for improvisation and quick thinking when the previous Splinter Cells sometimes gave you all the time in the world to plan out your strategy and in some cases even gave you multiple possibilities to certain situations.

What's cool about Conviction is that you are not only restricted to picking up soda cans and bottles as a distraction anymore. You can now grab nearly any object and even use it as a weapon against foes. There is also the option of grabbing a foe's weapon once they're down.

I'm a little nervous that they're going to mess things up with this one. I do trust the Montreal production to deliver a good game, (I've liked Chaos Theory and the first Splinter Cell) but I dunno. I have mixed feelings. That's just my :twocents:
