You will be informed that you will be the only one who is going to have these precious machines packaged on your door mat! So what would you do with them?

I would do:

1) Fast forward to the point of time when Square Enix is about to release Final Fantasy 13. I'd get it and go back to present and start making fun of people who doesn't have FF13 :D and then play FF13 peacefully! Oooh, I'd fast forward to 20 years later and check out the new versions of FF too!

2) Hm... I'd go back to the past when I was a baby, I want to remember clearly what have I been doing as a baby and what things have happened around me.

3) Time freezer sounds fun. I use it... faaap everything frozen except me... Hmmm.... I'd rob a bank LOL or trick people into believing that I'm a god. I'd trick cards from casinos.

4) Oh hmmm with TT, I'd go back and try to bring dead people back to life as many as I can.

5) Oh yes, going back to 2 millions years ago and I'd love to pat a huge dinosaur and try to find out how exactly they died.

I couldn't think of any more... anyways, do you believe in Time Travel? I do, well not exactly to some extent but I do believe that it's more possible to travel to future rather than going back. I began to wonder that if you travel in the space and try to do something there... like if you go inside a black hole and try to crawl out of it afterwards, there, the time will be passed extremely fast but the problem is... you will be instanteously dead. However if you can manage to absorb a substance of a black hole and try to anticipate/invent it into an empty metal thing, add a button on the top of the metal thing... and then click it, bingo!

If I had a time machine I'd freeze time and go to the girls changing room at school. :jokey:

Then I'd accidently push the button again somehow and time would move again.
Pain would be imminent. :(

I'd never use a time machine. A time freezer, now that's another story! I'd check out all the hot naked chicks or something. Because I'm a <s>perv</s> guy, and that's what we do.

I could used a time freezer to clean the house while the kids are sleeping! Amazing! I will only buy one if the Oxi-clean guy is selling them.

Like the loonyboobies, I am against the use of time machines. Us people from the future hate them, as they are illegal there.

What else does bipper know about the future?

Also, I would be tempted to do dirty things with such a device but I would not do them...well maybe I would....

Although maybe I'd go and chill in the Crusades for a while. Y'know, have a few beers with the Knights of Templar and slay a Saracen or two. Sounds like a jolly old lark to me.

I'd travel forward at least a thousand years. I imagine it will go something like this;

CMP: Wow, sure is nice here
Future Person: Hi there
CMP: Hello, you speak English?
Future Person: Yup, it's the world's language now
CMP: Cool. Nice place you got here
Future Person: Can't complain. Clean fuel, endless food supply, no one gets sick
CMP: Nice to hear. So the whole global warming thing...
Future Person: ...few extra hurricanes a year, nothing we couldn't handle
CMP: Thought as much...quick question, what was the last Final Fantasy game?
Future Person: Two hundred and sixty five
CMP: Nice, is it good?
Future Person: Nah, it went downhill after one hundred and fifty four

I'd have a time freezer, but I wouldn't bother with time travel itself due to the risk of creating time paradoxes.

Having frozen time, I would try and invent the electric bookshelf.

I'd go back in to the end of the dinosaurs, then freeze time and kill them all. LONG LIVE MAMMALS!

In fact, when I'm 84 I'm going to go back in time and gave my younger self my time machine. I then used that time machine a few years ago and killed all the dinosaurs. I then went back (technically forward LOL) to the date that my 84 year old self will come from, and will give him back the time machine. Then I will transport my younger self back to my own younger time zone.

My goodness, it's hard to be grammatically correct with all this time lark.

Okay. Here it comes. A situation where it's actually relevant.

I would use the time machine to go back to 1999 to tell myself who I am. I would force myself to come out to myself and tell myself it would be in my best interest to come out to the world. But you know. Only if it were relevant because it's not that big a deal.

Then maybe I wouldn't be in the position I'm in today.

And yeah. There's nothing in the laws of physics to prevent time travel.

Oh sure, if you want to be awoken in a period where the whole world's at the mercy of some weird alien race called the "Drakkons" who go back in time to create wacky time paradoxes while continuing to terrorise our own world, effectively leaving it in the hands of some dude in brown fatigues to go back in time himself and create more friggin' paradoxes by not only fighting these aliens but killing anyone else that actually belongs in Earth's history that resists him. Go ahead.

Yeah. I just remembered something. I was brainwashed by my religion at the time to believe it was wrong. I'd have to take myself into the present and show myself the way my life is now. I'd have to break my brainwash before I could ever teach myself who I am. It would be a difficult job, but it would sure as hell be worth it. I need to be true to myself and what better way than to be true to my past self. It would so make my life better now.

Only problem is, when you go back that far and change something that big, who the hell knows that kind of changes that would make in my life? I don't want to remove people from my life that I care about simply because I never met them now. I guess I could take certain people with me to be sure that I knew them then and will still know them in the new present. This is just hard.

With a time machine, I would go back to the 60s, then live through them, then I would go to the 70s and live through them, then i would go to Japan's Edo Period and live through it.

With a time freezer, I would actually have time to think about things before I say them. That would have a positive impact on my life.

EDIT:
There's nothing in the laws of physics to prevent time travel.
There isn't anything to prevent going forward, but you can't go backward. To go back in time, you would have to exceed the speed of light, which is clearly impossible.

However, a "time portal" can be created between two eras. It goes something like this:

In one time period, take one end of a stabilized wormhole (just assume it's possible) and load it onto an intergalactic starship capable of going, say, 98% as fast as light. Leave the other end on Earth. Have that ship take off, fly around at full speed for a few years, and land on Earth again. Because the end of the wormhole on the ship was flying at 98% of hte speed of light for a few years, time slowed down for it, and the ship carrying it would have landed probably about 1,000 years later in Earth time. However, the end of the wormhole that stayed on Earth would've kept going in Earth time, making it possible to travel between the era the ship took off in and the era the ship landed in by going through the wormhole.

Of course, this can't take you farther back in time than when the "portal" was created.

Yet, something tells me you still haven't read it. How can you have an opinion on something you haven't read? You don't disbelieve it because you haven't read it. You want to disbelieve it and therefore refuse to read it because you're afraid, by reading it, you'll be forced to reconsider your views on the matter, and that's something you're unwilling or unable to do right now.

Physicists have found the law of nature which prevents time travel paradoxes, and thereby permits time travel.

It may not specifically prevent time travel, but special relativity still prevents anything from going faster than light, hence, it prevents one from going back in time. Even the "time portal" only permits travel between two general eras of time; you can't specifically choose a moment to go back to.

He is right about the prevention of paradoxes, though. If you went through a time portal that goes back to the time your father was alive with the intention of shooting him before you are conceived, it just wouldn't work. Physics wouldn't allow it. Your gun would jam, you would miss, you would accidentally eliminate your dad's prime competitor for your mom, or something like that. Paradoxes just can't happen.

Serapy
08-31-2007, 02:06 AM
Hmmmm, what if you traveled to that time for 3 times without knowing but there may be a chance that you would feel déjà vu which would make the paradox possible to happen, there you will shoot the person. But there's no proof to back up this theory or yours anyway. I don't know if it's related to common sense in relation because it contains billions of different thoughts.

Anyway! Whoever bullies me, I'll use the time freezer... move that person, get it naked and put it on some busy street in a town!
