NOTE: This isn't an FFVII hating thread, it just conveinently shows the point I'm trying to make.

I was just running around facebook and stuff for my college network and between old used cars and school books I find this.

This crazy lady payed 300$ for an unopened FFVII, then to make it better her son didn't even want it because he wanted FFVIII. :p

How much are you willing to pay for a mint copy of a game that you like? In general just a mint copy in general?

Would you pay 300$? I sure wouldn't.

id give someone $20 for that but then id probably open it and play it. afterall thats what a game is for. im a collector i understand not opening something but i always buy for regular price and sell myself for crazy prices that i know people will buy for.

Wait.. What? xD

But yeah, she spent 300$ for her kid to play it. Like... I'm sure she could have wasted her money on something better. :D

I'll pay $50 or $60 bucks for an unopened game, and for Disgaea I might pay $70, but no higher.

I'm also a collector, but I wouldn't pay the price of a console for a videogame. I might pay as high as $90 to get Suikoden II, but that's the extent of my crazyness.

I'm buying the Legendary Edition of Halo 3. I don't want to comment. :(

Well, you're getting more than the game itself so it's worth more (and hopefully the games good, I shelled out an extra $10 for the special edition of FFXII and was thoroughly disappointed with both, BITE ME FANBOYS).

My friend bought that game for 50$. Why pay 6 times that much?

Yeah, at least with Special Editions you can pretend you're paying for something worthwhile. I don't think there are any games out there I'd pay more than the MSRP for.

I paid $30AUD for an original copy of Final Fantasy VII, new and sealed. I lost it and ended up paying $20AUD for another copy a few years later.

Who in their right mind would pay $250? I don't care if you collect :skull::skull::skull::skull: or not, the extra $220 or so is not worth it just for an 'original' copy that will play the exact same as the platinum or greatest hits copy.

Around the same here. Although I paid in UK currency.

The price of a "new" FF7 on auction sites is ridiculous. Sometimes if a game is rare and it costs a bit more than retail price I might fork it up but $250 to $300 is insane.

Maybe $50 at the most out of my own pocket and for old games I really want, like Xenogears or
Vanguard Bandits.

Neo Geo games can go up to a £1000 on ebay, this isnt uncommon for games to go this high. FFVII has rose in price but this person is pushing their luck big time.

Although if there was one game that I'd pay $250 for, it would be FFVII.

This just reminds me how much I screwed myself, because I have to get Castlevania symphony of the night and Xenogears and I know i'm probably gonna pay a hell of alot more than I could have a few years ago when PS1 games were cheap as hell. I don't know, i'm sure if i look i might be able to get 'em for $20-. I remember after beating my friends copy, going to ebworld at the mall and buying MGS1 & 2 for a grand total of $12.50...lol
