This song is actually pretty damn catchy. The thing with Britney's songs is that the beats are really really good, but her voice doesn't really contribute... anything. And people think she's the pop queen, over Christina Aguilera, who just straight out sings amazingly and has the music follow HER, not the other way around. Lawl.

Though I have to admit, this song sounds just like Justin Timberlake's new stuff. Which I do actually really like. D:

I don't think I've ever really cared for anything she's done beyond Everywhere, which was actually pretty good. I don't know if I can be bothered searching through her new tracks on the off-chance that she's actually made something decent though.

I don't remember Britney Spears too well, but I remember her being catchy in the worst way possible, where you don't want it stuck in your head, but it breaks down those mental barriers you've been building and buries itself inside the deepest part of your brain before slowly destroying it from the inside every time it pops up in your head.

That said, this song doesn't really have any really memorable hooks to have that happen. Which is good, I don't have to stop watching TV and try to listen to Gorgoroth for an hour to get it out of my head.

But seriously what exactly WAS the mass appeal about her? She was attractive before, but that was pretty much it. Her voice always sounded like she was out of breath and like gasping the words. At least to me.

That laugh thing that she does in the beginning is incredibly creepy.

She didn't always sing like that, from what I remember. She wasn't always so breathy, or whatever. I think when she first started she was actually singing. Not that she was incredibly talented then either, but it was better.

But maybe I'm remembering wrong, I don't know.

This is kind of my dilemma, though. I like Toxic and everything, but it's not her, it's her producers. I like her producers' music, she's just the person singing it. Obviously she has nothing to do with the music or lyrics. She can't even spell "role" correctly (http://www.shortnews.com/start.cfm?id=63476), let alone pen a song about a poison paradise.

So it just makes me wonder why they don't get another person to do it. It'd be the same thing, but with a better voice. Hers is just mediocre, so they might as well find some almost-American Idol and let them do it instead.

Okay, so what I am getting at... I could forget a lot of things and let her go about her business if she was actually a musician. Since she's dependent on other people for her songs and has no other stand-out attributes, I don't see any reason she should be rich instead of me.
