View Full Version : Music Transfer (iPod to Mac)

Ouch!

Righto. I just got my new laptop (after waiting for a bleedin' month), and I'm trying to move music from my iPod to my library so I don't have to hook up my iPod every time I want to listen to some music at my computer.

I've tried getting various programs that allow me to transfer the music. They're all limited trial versions, however, which have some pretty inconvenient restrictions (5 songs at a time, 50 song limit, 250 song limit, etc.). The best program I could find only stopped me with an annoying pop-up every 50 songs. That'd be fine if I didn't have 7,950 songs on my iPod.

I have most of the music backed up on an external hard drive. The rest of it, however, came from my dad's iTunes, and as I'm living away from home now, such files are not currently available to me.

What should I do? I tried changing the iPod to Disk Mode as my friend suggested, but that hasn't allowed me to move music as he promised it would. Does anyone know any program that's not a pain in the ass to use? Are there any tricks that make this easier?

Any thanks would be greatly appreciated.

Just curious, what programs have you tried using?

Edit: Check your email.

Have a look at these:
ephPod is a Windows application but runs perfectly under WINE on Linux. :p

I never tried these, but they look promising:
