Would it be a good idea if there was going to be a Final Fantasy real life movie? Including a-like actors (of FF characters) and some CGI.

The reason of posting this thread is probably because I'm not a big fan of those digital-graphic movies like FF7:AC

maybe, but it would be very expensive and hard to live up to the fans expectations.

I think making digital movies (with full of CGI, just like FF7:AC) are more expensive because they require more time to create 3d stuff, rendering them, voices, sounds, etc. Time is all about money.

So what if it's actually hard to live up to our expections? Most movies are not what we really 100% expected to happen. But the producers can just make a competition for pre-to-be-actors (only the ones who think that they look like specific FF characters), then the producers decide to pick one who is best for a character in looks. Hiring such actors won't be much expensive either. Or they could just make a new FF movie with new characters that we have never seen before.

Yes, that does cost money but consider that when making a live action movie you need to hire big stars (big bucks), set up stages, create props, hire lesser people to "play" crowds, and have directors and lots of money on supplies to refilm.

Hiring actors is usually expensive. And living up to expectations is very important.

In short. Square is a video game company, three dimensional movies are much like making cutscenes in games, but live action movies are completely different and out of their realm of expertise.

No I hope this doesn't happen . Final Fantasy is about something out of this world . Real people will ruin it .

Hiring new actors-to-be won't be that expensive because it will be thier first jobs. Even if it was expensive, there are many ways to get that money. Also, making a competition will make the expections more accurate as possible.

Some companies always like to add new something. And that "new" something will be more advanced in future causing new fame and profits.

Maybe some day when SE has gained a lot of fame, Hollywood might make a deal with SE to make action movies for FF.

I don't see how is it a bad idea, it could be entertaining.

Just a general FF movie, but in live action? Everyone would accuse it of being a Lord Of The Rings ripoff.

As long as neither Uwe Boll nor Paul Anderson go anywhere near the project I doubt it would be that bad. Conversely, with Peter Jackson's weird thing for adding his own crap that wasn't originally there (which every FF game sort of does: All the usual stuff plus something new) and his hardon for filming on location in New Zealand...

Ha! That's what they said about Sailor Moon! Besides, they already put real people in it when they started making use of motion capture and voice acting.

Something in the name of "Final Fantasy" should never be bound to live action. The whole idea is to "escape" from it.

The concept/purpose of the name is actually more important, having good friendships, doing jobs, etc.

When the new FF movie comes out, there are chances that new fans will be created.

Well, unfortunately. Many companies always change in every decade or so, whether you like it or not because nothing is perfect. Our expections are worthless.
