...by which point Bahamut will most likely outclass it in terms of damage.

And casting speed.
If you're playing FFIV Advance Palom can learn it around Level 50.

Unless theres a significant change in FF4A. being levle 60's all good but meteo wont help you a lot. the charge time is quite stressing and you'd rather be casting something else. even for 9999 damage, i still find flare and bahamut more time efficient.

Especially since one or two Big Bangs will probably kill Rydia anyway.

Flare's definitely more useful but I still like having Meteo there to use if I want if only as a tribute to Tellah.

Meteo? Whenever I fight the final boss, I leave Rydia dead; he only kills my entire party if I waste time reviving her anyway and any character who still doesn't have 2000 HP by the time you fight the last boss isn't worth my time. In fact that isn't worth being called anything but an utter joke.

I've beat the game so many times, I never managed to get my ass kicked by Zeromus since the first and second times. >_>

They gain experience while they're out of the party, Palom and Porom were like level 51 when I could get them back.

Doesn't Zeromus have a counterattack for black magic spells, but not summons...which is why you want to be summoning...

They don't really affect the story in any way, they're only available again like right before the Final Dungeon. That, Lunar Ruins, and a few glitches are the only real differences from the original.

The translation is a billion times better. So far, IV for the GBA is the only remake I've ever played where I really said "WOW," this improves the original a ton, not (oooh, accidental palindrome) just "ok, it's a little nicer looking and faster but that's it."
I never use meteo.
