I have just purchased Final Fantasy Xi for the first time and have just installed it but it keeps coming up with an error in the upgrade procedure. I think the only option now to uninstall Final Fantasy and re-install but my question is this. If I re-install it I won't have to buy another product key will I? Or it PlayOnline like steam where the games are linked to your account rather than your computer.

Your playonline account is what is linked to the key, not the game. You can install it on 50 computers if you want to, but you can only log in at one at a time.

I have it on 2 computers at home, using the same key, though I only log on one at a time.

Thanks a lot guys I have re-installed it successfully but I didn't fix the problem. It's refusing to upgrade and keeps giving me some error code about the HDD data or something. Here's the error code:

If you have vista, go to the POL website and download the Vista version of the POL client.

Even without the expansion packs it still comes up with this Error Message:

Error Code: POL-1153

Problems with the HDD data detected. Version Update failed

C:/ROM/(Random Number)/(Random Number).DAT

Insert any number between 1 and 400 in the Random number sections.

Does anyone have any ideas?
