I didn't go to prom because I was in Canada. Or America. Actually yeah, at the time of my prom I was in California.

Totally worth skipping prom for.

I've gone to three proms.

First one april 2006; stu flew down from OH to go with me :D so it was extra awesome since we saw each other for the first time. I had a simple blue dress and wrap I got from a consignment store for $32, and some shoes I ordered online that cost twice that much ;DD We ate dinner with a couple of my friends at Waffle House (for kix and cheaps) then had a blast at the prom until midnight. Danced some, got freezing cold (it was like 30 outside, in april!) so i stole stu's jacket and we decided to go on a joyride instead of home or to after prom, but after that we crashed until late sunday morning.
That year I helped to decorate, and really it was pretty crappy, but it looked nice if you squinted xD I think we set a record for least amount of $$$ and effort thrown into one of my school's proms. The theme was Moonlit Journey, and as a testament to how ghetto it was, we had lettered that over the stage curtains, and by the end of the night, you'd have thought the theme was 'Mo nlight Jour ey'

This April, stu did not go to my school's prom (I went to HIS:O), but I had dinner and proceeded to hang out with a bunch of my friends, so I didn't miss him TOO BADLY (except during slow songs!:(). I had a sparkly red dress that cost as much as my shoes the previous year (consignment shops for the win seriously) and some not-sparkly red shoes to match (also about that price). Those things killed my feet so hard. Ouch. The theme was something about fairy tales or something, and they really did a much better job than we did:D It was so gorgeous inside, and I regret stuart missed out on seeing it:O They had little wickerwire carriages with electric votives inside on the tables which they gave out to random senior girls at the end (I got one!) and little plastic glass slippers as well. (I have a pair of these). My friends and I danced all together and made right fools out of ourselves, which was totally fun.

There was a downside to the evening which made one of my friends not able to enjoy any of it, and I felt really sorry for her, because I loved it (she found out her date was gay, more or less), and it was her senior prom, so that was sad :( Also she wasn't there to have fun with since she left!

And leaving was very sad because after-prom was fantastic :O The juniors' parents decorate for that, and the theme was like a treasure island pirate thing, and teh decorations were just fantastic. Skeletons and stuff in the walls, piles of mardi gras beads and plastic gold coins. They had some pretty fun stuff to do; blackjack and texas hold'em in one room, kareoke in the cafeteria, mechanical bull, laser tag, obstacle course, rock wall etc in the gym. I mean, I had fun. I was totally worn out by the time 4am came around, when they gave us breakfast and started handing out door prizes. Totally wiped though 8)

Anyways, at stu's prom this year, I wore the same dress etc, and since it was held at a caterer's, we ate dinner there (it was pretty good). The music at his prom was all dumb hip hop, so I did very little dancing, and after prom was just more of the same, which I thought was also dumb, so we skipped that. But they did have carriage rides through the middle of town (middle of town is a roundabout with a fountain, so it was pretty awesome) and I got some gorgeous pictures and got to do some awesome cuddling~

and that is the extent of my formal occasions!

I have been to seven high school proms in my life time. Overplayed and boring.

1: my sophomore year, stag wnt with friends that were older.
2: junior year stag - too cool for a date
3: junior year (forest lake) with Liz, a girl a buddy of mine dumped the night before.
4: My senior year prom with Lisa
5: senior year with lisa, future exwife
6: Lisa's junior prom
7: Lis'as senior prom

When I think about it, you spend about 300 a prom night, that is about 2100. booo!

oh yeah, that was too long ago for pictures. I would have to scan and such, as digital cameras were fairly new at the time.

woah! :jess: lots of pictures, rubah. Youu looked very prettyyyy~

1) The first prom I went to was my leaving school prom. I went with my boyfriends younger brother, as he is one of my closest friends. The prom was at a nightclub called Zest in Ipswich, and we danced most of the night. I bought my dress for about £200 from a website based in America, and some cheap but pretty shoes. Afterwards there was an after-party in which pretty much the whole year went to. We all had tents up for sleep, and me and a friend climbed into our tent at about 7 in the morning and were about to go to sleep when one of our friends took all the tent pegs out whilst we were inside to stop us going to sleep. :jess:!

This is me & my boyfriends younger brother, before the prom. I don't know why I'm not looking at the camera. xD

2) I went to a ball in February this year with my boyfriend. It was his University ball. It was at the Royal Court Hotel in Coventry. We had a three course meal included and it was reallyy yummy, and there was a fun-casino and lots of alcohol consumed. & ofcourse, dancing! I wanted to wear my prom dress, but it wasn't really suitable because it was more of a posh-do, so I wore a prettypretty red dress which my mum gave me, and some black shoes because I was reallyyyy low on money at the time. A big group of us paid for 2 professional photos, but me and Loz didn't have enough money to get one of us two alone. :(...maybe next time! It was an amazingggg night, though.

I went to my girlfriend's prom. They had stupid music. After prom was fun because I got to act like a huge asshole and nobody cared. I sent about a dozen people looking for other people throughout the night. All I had to do was yell out "HEY! Yeah, you. So-and-so was looking for you. I dunno, I think he went that way. Something about.. I dunno."

They went for it.

It was hilarious.

I also made fun of everyone and threw drinks on people. Everyone thought I was hilarious and loved me.

Aaron's photo of his high school prom is pro. I however wonder why he still uses it....

Anyway, I didn't go to my high school prom. I was planning to ask somebody because she broke up with her boyfriend but they got back together..or maybe she lied that they broke up. Who cares now. It's funny cuz I didn't have a driver's license so logistics would dictate that either I would get a ride with somebody we both knew or it would be expensive. Good thing nothing happened out of it. Well, I told somebody my plan to ask her so maybe she knew. But we don't even talk or know how to talk to each other so again, it's not something I worry about.

The FOLLOWING year in Karate class one of the girls dragged me out after class and asked me to go to her prom. I said yes the following class, and wore a suit that was reserved for my high school graduation (which I also missed, thank God). There's a picture of us somewhere but nobody's going to see it here o:<

After that, we got invited to yet another friend's prom. I think I was pushing 20 years old at that time, if not older. This one was very interesting as both myself and my brother were in attendance! We tore up the floor because we're both breakdancers. We is teh win.

After that, there wasn't much of a prom to go to. I remember Bonnie making some half-assed chat about needing a prom date and I initially said I would go, but she was not able to front the cash for my ticket and I was 400 kilometers away. Oh well.

I have been to weddings. Those are fun (there's a picture of me with a white suit in the EoFF album if you want to see). The one with Mandee, BJ, Ashley, Sean *gasp*, Sean's wife, Kishi, Necro, um...oh God, Miriel, Del Murder, Halan (I think) and Halan's BF who I forgot the username of was in attendance (if I forgot somebody I sorwee). That was so frigging awesome.

After that I went to another wedding but was not able to dance T_T /verysad

I went to one at this school, I don't plan on going again for as long as I can put it off. 4 hours of modern rap music is enough to drive anyone to the edge of sanity.

I don't do proms. Never went to one, and I don't plan on going to any in the future. Oh wait, I'm not in high school so I can't go to any proms! :D

I've been a few dances before, and each time I have never enjoyed myself. Well, at least they don't play rap music. Just cheesy dance songs that could very well be sung on karaoke night.

I did not attend prom. Instead, I took my girlfriend out to the beach and we danced in a circle of candles 'neath the moon's glow.

It made such a thing much more memorable and meaningful.

The only dance I have attended was my senior prom, which I attended with my friend Anisha. It was all right, I guess, but I don't like dancing and the music was understandably crappy. The afterparty was fun, though. I bowled a 16!

I've been to three proms. One each year of the Danish equivalent of High School (Gymnasiet). The proms, or the "galla"s as we call them, were all great parties - it was undoubtedly the party of the year. Everyone, even the guys, would obsess about it and try to make it as special as possible. At my High School each class had a table to themselves, and each class had to come up with a theme and decorate the table after that particular theme. The best two tables would win a prize - you could win for either "The most creative" or "The most beautiful". My class won two years in a row for the most creative table decoration (1st year: "Welcome to the Jungle" theme, 2nd year: "Beach Party/Ibiza" theme", and sadly lost the third year where we ran for the most beautiful one. Anyway, everybody would get ridicolously drunk and when the party was over at 1 am, we would all hit the town in our fancy clothes.. quite fun :) What was even more fun was that all the third years had to dance "lancier" in front of everyone, which we had rehersed in our gym class. It didn't help much, though, because many of us were already quite drunk at that point in the evening.. ah, the memories.

Here are the pics I could find. There weren't any more on this computer:

Prom in my country is a lot different ^^" Some people got dressed with huge dresses but I got a jean dress that I can wear all the time :D I went with a friend of mine and it was pretty sweet! ^^"

Win.

We don't really have proms here in Britain. My RoA night was passable in year 11 though it wasn't terribly spectacular. The traditional end of IB meal with the tutors and all the IB2 crew was good this year though. Very classy. Moreso when we ended up in a fairly crowded Wetherspoons afterwards.

I went to the school ball and it was alright. I'm not posting pictures because I looked crappy. The best thing about the school ball was checking out all the girls in their dresses, 'cause a lot of them look really pretty in 'em. Jess and Shlup's pics can be used as evidence towards this. I don't know if Danielle ever went to one of those but I did take her out for our anniversary and she wore a really nice dress that one might see at a school ball, and she looked incredible too. So there you go, guys. Go to the balls/proms - the girls are hot and a lot of them might get drunk enough for you to take adva-- *shot by Leeza*

Do you mean Graduation? I went to 8, i'm aiming for 10 though. xD

I'll pick out the most memorable.

First one I went to was with a girl I was going out with at the time, I was 17 I think. It was a horrible venue, they didn't serve us alcohol and it was over at 1:30 in the morning, which was kinda silly as they usually last all night. Found it hard to enjoy myself, and It was weird wearing the Tux!

My own grad was such a laugh! Best night of my life! I brought my best friend, who happens to be my cousin, because I was in no way interested to score a woman that night, just wanted to have a good night with my mates. Besides she looked lovely. It was one of those very eventful nights, it seemed to have everything, including my drunken friend in a dance-off with a professional Irish dancer.

Other was my friend David went stag and brought me to his grad! Was such a funny night, and held in the weirdest location. A Graduation Ball in what seemed a nightclub. T'was weird...

Ah, I'll leave it there. :)

I haven't been to any proms. I've been in and out of public school too often to catch one yet, and since I'm out again pursuing an independent education I probably won't ever catch one.
