Does anyone know a website or a link to anywhere that can show me a step by step guide to draw characters

What kind of characters? I'm going to assume anime. You know, google is your friend. I put in a simple search and it came up with a lot -- anyway, here's a website that I checked out ages ago which was helpful.

Note: There is no easy way to learn to draw. It requires a hell of a lot of practice, among a small percentage of talent and knowledge.
