Yeah I never imagined Ipods getting as popular as they are...I remember hearing friends complain how they freeze up and stuff and saying I'd never get one.. yeah that didn't last long.

I remember when we first got the internet and thinking AOL was the greatest thing ever...funny loooking back on that

6 years ago...would make me a preteen,oh no! lol
At my young age of 13 theres no way I could've fathomed the responsibility given to me now.
What I would've looked forward to I guess would be college, which I'm in now and what would suck ummm....i guess high school which it did on some levels (like for everyone)

Back then I was 10-11 playing with Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I have now discovered that the only good thing to come from Yu-Gi-Oh is the Abridged series.

Although the iPod is very popular I hear that there are a lot of complains about them compared to other MP3 players out there. Maybe they have that many flaws, or maybe iPods are just that much more popular than the other players that more people are bound to call in and complain? I dunno.

Anyway, back on topic: 6 years ago I was 13 and it was 2001.. Hmm. I remember that I at that age only had eyes for PlayStation and not Nintendo and X-Box (still don't.. X-Box = ugh), and so when the GameCube was released I didn't think about buying it because I surely thought that I would have enough in my dear PlayStation 2, but man did I turn.. I now also own a GameCube and it's probably as dear to me as my PlayStation 2. So, for this generation of consoles I've decided beforehand to buy both a PlayStation 3 and a Wii.. I'm still not down with the X-Box, but who knows.. maybe I will be some day (not likely, though).

My dad randomly got me an iPod for my birthday one year as a total surprise, that was 3 years ago and it still works perfectly so I certainly have no complaints. :monster:

6 years ago I had no clue what I was going to do with my life and certainly didn't anticpate me being where I am now.

Back in summer of last year, I bought an iPod at a yard sale. It was a 4th gen color screen and I paid $75 for it. I wish I hadn't because it broke in November and I bought a brand new 5.5 gen from Wal-Mart with the money I won from the casino on the cruise in late December. If I hadn't bought the first one, I wouldn't have needed the second one. I tell people that ask me about my iPod not to buy one, stating as my main reason that it's, "a bundle of headaches you can't live without." From now on, I'll always need an iPod, thanks to my neighbor who had to sell hers at an attractive price.

Yeah. They do suck.

Six years ago I thought several things, things I don't remember now. However I do believe I-pods suck because: 1) I-tunes + charges for downloading = wtf you want to RESTRICT my choice of music software then try to sell me songs at £1 a song? NO U! (2) Headphones, the headphones supplied with the I-pod imo suck. If I was to go buy headphones I like the style of (sony ones similar to the ones given on the hands free kit for the Sony Ericson walkman phones) I would then have to pay in the region of £40 for a pair of headphones for it. (3) I'd like to have an 80 gig or bigger I-pod so I could store copious amounts of music on it that I no longer have room for on my hdd but would like to keep and listen to. This costs £150+ therefore I'm paying more than the cost of your average walkman phone and well walkman phones allow me to make phone calls/text people too and all on one piece of technology. (4) They don't supply them generally to my knowlege with cases. However to keep an I-pod looking nice and working fully (in the case of the touch control ones) you have to therefore go buy a case for it which I-pod (apple) and select third party companies control the market for therefore meaning you've gotta pay like £10 - 20 for a nice case. Factor all these together and I'll stick to my walkman phone, it might only have a limited memory of perhaps 2 - 5 gig if I got a new one with the expansion slot on it's memory and a big enough memory chip (which would cost a fair bit) but I can atleast get a camera, make calls, send texts, and listen to music on one machine.

Six years ago I was running Windows 98, and thought that Vista (Well, Longhorn :p) would never be released. It might as well not have been. :p

I also thought iPods would suck and I still do, but hats off to Apple for making 9 out of every 10 people want one. My phone does a better job of being an mp3 player. :p

I have an iPod and I refuse to install iTunes. You don't need iTunes to have an iPod. If you know anything about computers, you realize that there are better ways of putting music on the iPod.

To be fair though, most people don't and are forced to use iTunes. Regardless of ways around it, it's still a really irritating program that most people have to use. Or at least I found it to be quite irritating.

I suppose 6 years ago I was wondering when I'd actually get to select which subjects to drop later on in high school, which seems ages ago now. Having said that, I suppose the actual decision was only five years ago. Was also waiting on the release of the GameCube like mad.

Yeah, I don't like iPods, either. They bug the crap out of me. On the other hand, Zunes are great! I don't have one, but I would like to.

I believe everyone who matters uses Winamp anyway. Winamp not only comes with an adequate plugin for using iPod, but also has a third party plugin which is 1.5 million times better than iTunes called ml_ipod. If you didn't know this, then you don't use Winamp, and the last part is self-explanitory.

That being said, anyone who uses iTunes, in spite of this information, fails at life. And judging by the fact that no one here seems to like iTunes, I believe it's more or less safe for me to say this.
