Supposedly the direction the image is perceived to rotate in is dependent on the side of your brain that is dominant:

Right-side: clockwise
Left-side: counter-clockwise

The image rotates clockwise for me, and I cannot 'get it' to rotate counter clockwise. It's driving me literally ape doodie trying to 'make' it rotate counter clockwise. Why?? I don't get it. How can you see it any other way?

wahhh~~~ T_T Qew Qew

topic: what direction is 'she' spinning? If you see it counter clockwise, wtf? how? can you explain?

edit: new topic: more mind breaking illusions ples.

This NON ANIMATED image keeps moving. AHHHHHHH

edit used a jpg instead of gif: http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/2852/rotsnak3ds8.jpg

Psychotic already made a topic about that horrible vixen, and I hate him every day for it. She won't go counter clockwise, dammit!

edit: ok, PG suggests an optical illusion thread with all sorts of illusions, so I'll open this so you guys can KNOCK YOURSELF OUT.

Thanks Levian. I now provide you with:

A test of whether you can see!

How many times do the people in white shirts pass the ball?

I'll give you the answer after a day or maybe in 3.5 when I leave for home.

edit: it would help if I gave you a url: movie 15 (http://viscog.beckman.uiuc.edu/grafs/demos/15.html)

<s>I counted again and I still count 14 ;-; But it's too easy, I must be missing something? xD</s>

Edit: LOL Pg, I hate you xD THIS OPTICAL ILLUSION THING SUCKS.

There are 15+ of those videos on that site, thus the number 15. I doubt it has any significance.

In the animation, she goes clockwise, until you watch the shadow of her foot, then it switches to counter-clockwise.

What the hell, how did you get 17? Re-watching this video constantly is going to make my brain EXPLODE.

the correct answer is that a gorilla walks across the screen

That is correct (Jojo I wanted people to see this before we posted spoilers)

Watch it again if you don't remember seeing a gorilla. When I first watched it, I intentionally blocked all black images from my mind so even though a Gorilla walked right in front of the screen I filtered it out and focused on the white shirted folks.

Yeah, I definitely saw the gorilla. Most people don't see him? That's weird.

At first I saw her counter clockwise. Then I saw her clockwise. The trick to changing it is to imagine it as a flat object and try not to view it as a 3D object. When you imagine her flat, she sort of absorbs one side of herself and spits it out the otherside. Once she is a mirror image of herself, go back to viewing it as a 3D object and, hello, she be goin' the udda way

Well i watched the video 3 times watching one person in the white shirt at a time counting how many times they pass. Then i added them together and got 15. I hope thats right

and i noticed the gorrilla the first time i watched because i thought it was asking how many balls they were throwing. Balls kept appearing out of nowhere and dissapearing for me so i thought there were more than 2

I find if you grab the window the spining girl is in and just shake it about for abit and imagine it then eventually it might turn the otherway

I have proven my theory as to what makes bipolars intellectually and creatively superior to homo sapians. I can make her spin either direction based on what I want to see. This means bipolars are superior because we have an ambidexterity of the brain. This was my theory and now this is fact. Bipolars are the next stage in human evolution and it has been proven.

I can't believe I didn't notice it.
