On October 23rd, the Usa is going to finally see the release of Front Mission 1. It's going to be on the DS, with some updates on the Japanese PS 1 and Snes releases.

Front Mission is a Square Enix series of tactical rpg's involving huge customizable warfare robot wanzers and it takes place in the future. The style of the game battle is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics. In Usa we've only got FM 3 and FM 4. The series has five main games, plus 6 spinoffs, including Front Mission Online. The series is led by Toshiro Tsuchida, who is currently working on Final Fantasy XIII as battle director. Front Mission 1 came out in Japan for Snes in 1995.

I've beaten Front Mission and Front Mission: Gun Hazard so far. They were extremely high quality. I'd like to beat more of these games, I may eventually get this DS release of this game. Who is buying this game? :)

I enjoyed Front Mission 4 very much. I didn't play much of FM3. If I ever get around to buying another DS I would consider this.

If I get a DS again, this'll be a game I get from day 1. But I probably won't get a DS again.

How many people bought Front Mission 1 for Nintendo DS last fall? I wish they would release more Front Mission games in Usa. After Front Mission 5 and Front Mission Online were released in 2005 the team has slightly split up but it's not a real split up, just other temporary projects that aren't a Front Mission 6 game.

I'm sure people are still working on Front Mission Online(Japan only game) but I'm not sure if they have released an expansion pack. Also, Front Mission 2089 and 2089-II have been released for cellphones and the first one is getting a DS port, this is all Japan only so far. Also, there was a Front Mission 1 port for DS last year that was great. Also, the main guy from Front Mission, Toshiro Tsuchida, is currently working on Final Fantasy XIII as the battle director. Also, some Front Mission people are working on the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King game with the FF CC designers.

The sooner Final Fantasy XIII comes out, the sooner Toshiro Tsuchida is going to be freed up to make Front Mission 6! I'm glad he lent his expertise to the FF XIII team but I want to play Front Mission 6 though!

I just read this on FM Online's Wikipedia article...
"On February 28th, 2008, Square Enix announced that service of Front Mission Online will be discontinued on May 31, 2008."
Gargh! I want to play this game though! Maybe I'll check out gameplay videos on Youtube. :D
