View Full Version : How much time do you dedicate to your hw?

If I really focused on my hw, it would take me all night to do it and I rarely have the time for shopping or anything else. It takes me 4 hours the least to complete an assignment and 30 min at the least to complete each assignment. I'm not sure if everyone else also takes up that much time to do theirs, if not then I'm beginning to feel like I'm not as smart.

Depends on which subject for me. I can do my algebra homework really fast, because I hate the subject (and it's my second time taking it (I failed the class last year)). But if it was my English homework, I either already have it done during class, or I take HOURS on writing assignments. (I'm really picky and verbose with my essays.)

The length of my free period. If I don't get it done in that time...

...well, I never actually not finish it in that time.

Whatever is required.

Due to the nature of my classes, it happens to only be around two hours or less a night. However, as the years pass, I suspect the amount of time I spend on my homework to rapidly increase. I say this because I'll soon be taking two English creative writing courses a quarter.

I'm a slave to school. I enjoy these moments of just replying to threads, etc... I spend most of my day doing homework. And I enjoy my dedication.

I get all my science homwork for 2 weeks on 1 sheet of paper, so I usually get that done in about an hour during class (when the teacher's explaining it). I do my math homework in science in about 20-30 minutes.

Most of my homework consists of reading short stories, poems, and plays; and I'm a fast reader, so I spend very little time on homework!

I pick and choose which items of homework are most helpful to me actually learning the topic, and that aren't a deterrent to absorbing the info. Anything else, I don't do. That leaves me with usually two-three hours a night, more than that if there's something major due soon.

When I was in school I would allocate my time to classes depending on how much I liked them and/or how easy they were. It went something like philosophy->english->social sciences->computer sci , since philosophy and english required essays, social sciences was hard so I didn't like it, and comp sci was retardedly easy so I didn't spend ANY time except the time it took to write out the assignments (I didn't even do the reading for the classes).

In retrospect or hindsight, I think that you should allocate more time to the more difficult courses, regardless of whether you like the class or not.
