In a short story of mine, 17-year-old Tucker was upset because his brother was probably dead. He was at work and felt powerless. He told his boss the situation and asked if he could leave. The boss said, "If you leave before 9:00, don't bother coming back."

Then Tucker threw his work vest at his boss and said, "Keep the smurfing vest. I hope your wife gets diphtheria."

That's the insult of which I'm the most proud, but I've never gotten the opportunity to use it in real life.
