THE LAST REMNANT (http://na.square-enix.com/remnant/index.html)

Some new, interesting stuff is there. I also updated the wiki based on it.

Graphics look amazing...I couldn't stop looking at those backgrounds (both 2D concepts and in-game)
If everything else matches the artistic vision of this game,SE may have another hit under it's belt.
It will also be a good comparison (as far as graphics go) between it's recently licenced Unreal engine and FFXIII's White engine...

I wonder if the game will also be released simultaneously in Europe... although i don't have any high hopes.:(

^I doubt it. They'd have mentioned it most likely if they were going to. :(

I just looked into this game today and it looks amazing. The development team looks particularly strong, looks like most of the SaGa people. Hopefully this will be able to wet our appetites before XIII comes out, it may even be better.

Just found out about this game from Game Informer, and it looks amazing.

I can't wait until Fall.

Does that opening Voice sound like Vash(Trigun) to anyone besides me?

Bumping this because it deserves it.

This game from what is shown so far is simply amazing, it looks as if the game is going to draw you into it and seriously keep your attention instead of having the ability to focus elsewhere and continuously hit the "confirm" button. I'm really looking forward to its release.

1. Graphics don't make games any good.
2. The Unreal 3 engine isn't all that good either.

The game looks interesting, just hope that the PC version will be released around the PS3 one...

? the engine is like...the standard/measuring stick for modern graphics. Sure, there's more powerful games out there, but how many can you really name?

I really wish we'd be getting a PS3 release date for this. Between this and Red Alert 3, I really feel like a second class citizen.

I meant standard/measuring stick, as in what other engines can be compared to, considering how widely distributed/mainstream it is. The only engine I can think of off the top of my head that tops it easily is the cry engine 2 (for crysis), crystal tools is yet to be seen, and I would venture to say the MGS4 engine (using XSI) is in the ball park, if anything, a little worse, at least when it comes to character models, I think.

The original Unreal 3 engine is crap, they give it optimizations with every new game that has been made on it. Try comparing Unreal Tournament 3 with some newer games. you will see that the Unreal 3 by itself is an average engine for the new consoles...

well im finally getting my own copy of UT3 in a few days(rented it for a while months ago, played on an SDTV), so I'll let you know then

Anywho, I just thought I'd note that there's been another site update since this thread was made. The information they show is not much newer, and there is no longer developer entries (from what i saw), but there's some new footage, its looking even better than it did a year ago. I really have high hopes for this game from what I've seen of the art, the music, the battles, and especially the people behind designing each of these aspects.
