Since no one seems to be discussing these two games in the other Pokemon Threads I decided that I should make a separate thread for them.

So have you played these two games? How did you find the whole Shadow Pokemon system? Do you think they're better than the other Pokemon Games? Do you want a sequel for those games for the Wii?

I really found those games awesome. The music and feelings that those games had were much better than the ones in Pokemon Red, Gold, Ruby, Diamond, Stadium, and them. The Shadow Pokemon and Cipher's ambitions also added a serious theme to the game, something that was hard to find in any other Pokemon game.

I really want a sequel for those games to be made for the Wii. It'd be so much better than Pokemon Battle Revolution.

I've only played XD, but, personally, I loved it. I greatly enjoyed the double battles that dominated the game, and the Shadow Pokemon was a very nice capture system. I didn't have to farm each area to get all the Pokemon there, you just acquire them all as you go along, and, should you miss one, you can recapture it later.

The only real downside is that a lack of breeding and the fixed captures means that getting high IV Pokemon is nearly impossible, and battling only trainers makes EV training hard (fortunately, there is a repeatable trainer who has only Speed EVs, and one who has only Special Attack EVs, so it's not impossible).

I also liked not being able to catch them all and just being able to capture only a few Pokemon. It forces you to assemble a team where you're only limited to certain Pokemon which adds to the challenge. Having all Pokemon being reobtainable (especially legendaries) was also very conveinent.

I also thought that it lacked the breeding capabilities from the portable Pokemon games. As for the EV training I liked that as well because people can't train their Pokemon as easily and shape them the way that they want them to be. It adds to the difficulty of the game and makes people more reluctant to abuse the EV system built into Pokemon games.

Also, for those of you that never played/watched these two games here are some (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i_wKs31Tyo) samples (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arNmzt9mC_U) of (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuhqoZvyntA) the (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLbVzw6i6Kw) games' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSdeJcWX14w)awesome (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXH5N3rG5ms) music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9xBAAU5n8w). They really have to add some songs from Pokemon Colosseum and XD to Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

I prefer options, and the lack of breeding and EV training was a little too limiting for my preferences.

The Cipher Peon battle music is my favorite battle music from all of the Pokemon games.

Miror B's theme went really well with his Margarita Men Ludicolos.

The Cipher Peon battle music has to be one of the most epic songs in all of the Pokemon games. That song helps emphasize how cruel Cipher's goals are destroying the Pokemon's feelings and turning them into cold, emotionless, fighting machines. It's also one of the main things that give Pokemon XD a serious theme.

I also like how Miror B was in both of those games. Having Ludicolos transferred over to XD and seeing all these Ludicolos dancing to Miror B's theme song is really fun. Even if he does ruin the serious theme to those games, it wouldn't be Pokemon without comic relief and he's one the most amusing characters in the Pokemon series.

Those games are so much better than the Pokemon Stadium series and Pokemon Battle Revolution could ever be. They don't have a cheesy announcer ruining things with annoying comments. It also has an actual plot that requires you to save the Shadow Pokemon before it's too late (although it technically can never be "too late"). You also fight with Pokemon that you actually own and can level them up within the game. The Simulation Battle CDs also made the game quite good (especially since the simulation battles have music that sounds so awesome that you don't even think it's from a Pokemon game).

Colosseum is Superior to the Wii incarnation (Battle Revolution) -- I would like to have a Wii port, since Pokemon BR is very easy (get pokemon games, upload all the super legendaries, then pwn).

I haven't played XD unfortunately =(

Yeah. Since you either rent Pokemon that you haven't even trained or copy high leveled Pokemon from Pearl or Diamond without having to train them within the game Pokemon Stadium and Battle Revolution are more on the easy side. Also, by removing the training part, it makes those games feel a lot less like other Pokemon Games.

XD is quite similar to Colosseum. The main differences are you get Lugia instead of Ho-oh, there's a lot more Shadow Pokemon, there's a purification chamber instead of time flutes, purified Pokemon can gain moves that they normally couldn't learn (namely Refresh which I personally don't find useful), and you get the legendary birds instead of the dogs.
