Is this an MMO?

It's on some consoles. Does that mean I just can buy it for a PS3 and that's it or is it like FF11 with that weird hard drive stuff.

Elder Scrolls is actually a series of single player RPGs that feature wide open worlds and somewhat free choice with how you play the game, aside from the main quest path.

You play only with yourself and the NPCs of the Elder Scroll world(s)

Are we talking about Oblivion, because I know for sure that that's on the Ps3.

Seconded.

Elder Scrolls is more like Gothic/Two Worlds kinds of thing without Multiplayer. In fact, there was only one game which had it and it wasn't even a part of mainstream series. (methinks it was Redguard)

PS3 sucks anyway, so no worries.

Morrowind would have been even more fun if it was multiplayer. However, an optional multiplayer would be the best. Cause sometimes it's cool being the only supremely powerful mage-god with all the spells in the book and full Deadra armour and weapons, running around mass-murdering villagers and shopkeepers just so you can take some stuff sitting out on the counter.

Oblivion is also on PC as well, if you prefer - but you'll need a VERY good PC to run it.

I suggest buying TES 3 Morrowind for PC though, because the console version is nowhere near as good graphically, and it's nowhere near as demanding as Oblivion.

The TES series has never had an MMORPG and I hope it never will. I like the option to play a game the size of an MMORPG without it being full of other players. After all, you get a lot of players in them whose only goal is to cause trouble and disturb your enjoyment of the game.

The most online you can get is through mods, even then it's only transferring information.

They've actually mentioned they are planning to make an MMORPG of the game.

The problem is, whilst they may feel like MMOs, in actual fact the whole freedom to do anything thing wouldn't work so well in an MMO where other people are roaming around. Just as Tsukasa points out.

I would like a multiplayer thing like an arena, where a few players can duke it out.
