I am wishing to expand my classical music library to something outside of the traditional realm (something beyond the obvious composers; Bach, Mozart, Strauss, Gershwin, Chopin, Sibelius etc).

And thus, I ask members of EoFF if they have found any traditional composers and/or artists of foreign music. Primarily, I would like to have French styles of music (a sound similar to Yann Tiersen) or Greek, Italian, or any other type of Mediterranean styles.

Post worthy traditional styled composers and artists that are outside of America and Europe

If you're into operas at all here's a few Italian ones plus a baroque composer:
-Monteverdi
-Verdi
-Puccini
-Vivaldi

Here are a few French composers:
-Debussy
-Berlioz
-Rossini

I've been big into electronica and electronic rock music lately, and that music scene seems to be pretty big in France these days. Three notable bands (from France) being:
-Daft Punk
-Justice
-M83

I know you said no Europe, but Gustav Holst, Modest Mussorgsky, and Dmitri Shastakovich are all amazing composers.

Bedrich Smetana is a fantastic czech composer. Check out Ma Vlast.

Also, though i cannot provide any names a lot of egyptian/N African classical music is worth a listen.

Even though you said "no Europe",you should check the work of Greek composer/mathematician/architect Iannis Xenakis.
