Anyhoo, Jess secretly being Devil Man reminded me of my friends. The relation being that one of my friends is really good at impersonating people. But that topic was made ages ago, so this ones only real use is to yell at Jess.

But still, have you ever mistaken some random stranger for someone you know?

I have. I leaped onto this guys back, screaming "RAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!" and took that bugger down! Then I realised it wasn't someone I knew. :(

In response to the topic, I often mistake strangers for people I know if I'm not wearing my glasses and I can't see who it is when they're far away. :jess:

Those are some of the most awkward situations to get into, at least for me. On campus if I see someone I <i>think</i> I might know, but am not 100% sure I usually won't say anything. Chances are it usually turns out to be a complete stranger and I save myself the embarrassment.

I think everyone has raised their arm to wave at someone they thought was a friend, and when they realized it wasn't they'd think it was too embarrassing to just raise the arm without doing anything with it, and therefore the scratching of the head/back/whatever.

ive had lots of moments where i was like " do i know that person?" and ive also avoided calling someone by there name so i wouldnt look stupid and call them the wrong one. i usually let them talk for hints.

This rarely happens to me because I assume I don't know people if I'm not sure I remember them. Last week, though, I walked by a girl that looked extremely familiar. Now that I think of it, she may have been the younger sibling of someone I know but I didn't realize it at the time. I just stopped and stared and I guess that made her feel uncomfortable so I just said, "Hey, how are you?" and that seemed to have broke the tension. But no, I don't know whose sibling she is.

One time I was at this concert with my girlfriend and I left to go to the bathroom and then I came back and she was a few feet away from me with her back to me so I went up to her and wrapped my arms around her and kissed her cheek then found out it was just some straight girl who was wearing the same clothes.
