So, when you're dreaming, can you tell that you're asleep?

I always figure out during the dream, but at the very end. Not nearly enough to do what I want or anything. Things just happen as I'd expect them to, like a day in my normal life. It's been far too long since I've had an abnormal dream. It's just a world based upon my expectations, rather than wonders, and when it finally gets weird, I realize I'm dreaming, and I wake up.

What about you?

You know that you can only remember a dream when you wake up during it?

Interesting? Yes. That's why you never experience the VERY end of your dream. Well, you do, but you don't remember it.

I remember my dream once i go somewhere or see soemthing during the day
I have known that i was dreaming once but then i woke up, the best is when you can control your dream even when you dont realise it is one:p

I love dreams:)

What if you could control your dreams....?

Then you could do anything you want for like...hours.

I know I'm dreaming usually. Even when I don't have control over them.

I've had two very memorable dreams this week, which is unusual. Usually I can't even remember them just when I wake up, but I can remember these two very clearly. I want to tell you one of them, because I love you.

1) Y'know Sawyer, from Lost? The US government hired him and his team of 4 to hunt some dinosaurs. I found out about this (can't remember how), and ended up in a lovely little glade with ankylosaur-esque dinosaurs. They were exactly like them, except they didn't have the tail. They had a turtle's tail. I went to drink from a stream at the side, when the leader stopped me and said (yes, said): "No don't drink from there. We filter our water from the lake." This is easily the best line of any dream ever. Meanwhile, Sawyer and co. (and it was Sawyer, not the actor that plays him), were trying to catch a T-Rex. With ropes. On a beach. That was a fun little interlude. After that, time jumped a bit, and I ended up besieging a US building with my little ankyloturtles, and we kicked ass and everything was happy. Then it ended when I woke up. And I don't mean it was cut short by my waking up, I mean the dream properly ended.

A very active mind you have Quin. Well, I can't remember too many dreams I've had that's similar to our reality. My dreams are almost all crazy. I've learned a lot about dream in my psychology class. But I'm pretty sure you guys want me to spare you guys of a lecture.

Most of the time when I realize I'm dreaming I'm having a sort of nightmare and trying to wake myself up :p Otherwise, not really, although once I did have a normal dream where I knew I was dreaming and I tried to fly by flapping my arms a lot ^_^ It worked for a little bit and then I fell.

You can teach yourself and practice to have lucid dreams, though. I did a project report thing on this in high school :3

I've never had a lucid dream and of the like 2-3 times I realised it was a dream I woke up immediately eventhough I didnt want to, must be a knee-jerk reaction I suppose.

Not really...but then I rarely 'remember' my dreams.

Sometimes im like, this situation is pretty bad, it's probably a dream, then i pinch myself and i think it hurts or something, then im like its not a dream, but i didnt feel it for real. Then i try to move things with my mind and on the chance it succeeds ive figured it out and on the chance it fails i dont think im dreaming

Hehe, I usually do know it, sometimes my dreams were so real though, that I woke up in relief that it wasn't really happening.

I have lucid dreams on a weekly basis. I don't really do anything in them anymore apart from attempt to fly (I used to be able to do it :()

Most of my dreams are lucid, the only ones that aren't are ones brought on by extreme tiredness, those aren't lucid, and are most generally normal dreams, of like my daily life but slightly weirder. And to an extent I can control what I dream of before I sleep, or continue a dream from a previous night. I can usually fly too, or jump really really high, like, Superman jump high.

EoFF is a dream. It cannot be real. Wake up, Paul.

Wake up. :(

Not a chance. I can (and will) sleep for 12 hours easily and the entire time I'll not realise I'm dreaming unless I wake up (which is usually about 213214 times a night for a drink) and realise I'm not really part of the cast of Casino Royale :(

When we are involve deeply in some matter our unconcious mind record that data and reproduce it at specific time so this must be illusion...

I wish I could have lucid dreams, I always figure out I'm dreaming if I see a clock and the time will be like 2 and I'll be like, ":skull::skull::skull::skull:, I'm late for school!" or something and then I'll wake up and it's really like 3 AM.

I usually know all along, but since I enjoy dreams I let them do their thing. Whenever I try to control them though, the dreams go in a completely different direction avoiding my demands, and if I persist at it, the dream forcibly ends.

Maybe it's some kind of statement that I can't control my subconscious at will - that would explain some of the problems I've been having lately.

I always know if I'm dreaming, but I let the dream go by themselves, being them dreams or nightmares, and I let my subconscious to do everything without my help, because it can protect itself nearly all the time. Only when the dream goes completely out of control I snap it out.

So, wait. You dream about giant women?

Wait a minute. I'm posting on EoFF... maybe I'm sleeping too!

No, not that. I just figured I'd put something random in the thread title. Giant woman was tied with a living freezer. >.>

Edit: Anyway, as to not veer off-topic, perhaps I should reply to whether or not EyesonFF is a dream. We really can't prove that it's a dream or not, at least not until we get off the computer and go to sleep. Because when you dream, it seems as though you apply a past for yourself as well. Why, one time I had a dream about EyesonFF. Kishi banned me because the week earlier I had made a bad post of some sort. But, at the same time, it wasn't a lucid dream, because I couldn't control where the screen went. I just acknowledged that at the time, I knew something. It was a weird dream to not be lucid, when you're yourself.

Lately my dreams have become so vivid that I really have a hard time differencing them from reality. It usually takes me about half an hour to randomly think of what I dreamt about that night and then realize that it was a dream. Until that point of realization my dreams are subconsciously real.

Well, I had a couple of dreams where I almost realized that I was asleep. Like, I remember I once asked my mom in a dream: "Am I sleeping and dreaming?" And she said something like: "Nope, you usually do that at 6 o'clock". And when I woke up, I looked at the time, it was 6:45 AM, so I guess I was having that dream at 6 o'clock 0_o

Lucky you... Wish I could have lucid dreams...

My dreams are lucid.

Last night, it wasn't though. It was weird. My boyfriend, his friend and I were building snowmen. His friend looked like McLovin'. xD

I always have dreams about real life that I dont notice are dreams and dont think its a dream when I wake up. I normally think they are real so I do an extra homework assignment or something:(

Yeah, sorry about that.

I usually can tell when I'm dreaming because I know an anvil really can't fly.

In my dreams, I'm almost always aware that I'm dreaming. But most of the time, even while I realize it's a dream, I can't control the dream. When I can control it, it's awesome. :)

Yes.

I am also able - and many times do - to lucidly dream. However, it is quite fun to watch my subconscious write some of the most interesting stories I have ever experienced in one form or another.
