I have a wisdom tooth growing in, you know, one of those 18-year molars, and it hurts a lot because it's breaking through the gum. I feel like a baby who needs to gum. :3 I shouldn't really complain though, at least (I hope!!!), I don't need my wisdom teeth pulled out.

Discuss how terrible wisdom teeth are. :kaocry2:

The terrible thing about wisdom teeth is that the tooth fairy dun pay much for it when she come collect it. :(

The worst part was when they were still growing when I tried to eat hard bread or cookies or.. just anything hard.

Pshh, I am years past eighteen and my wisdom teeth are still coming in. The gum surfaces are eroding that slowly. If your dentist says they will be in soon enough you are actually pretty lucky.

Mine didn't come through until I was 20. They didn't finish until I was 22. And I still don't know for sure! There might just be sudden incredible pain next time I move my jaw! It's an adventurous life :monster:

I had no problems with wisdom teeth.

They didn't hurt coming in and my jaw didn't hurt when they eventually pulled the out. No pain killers after surgery even though they killed another tooth right at the gum line leaving the pulp exposed...yeah I don't know why I wasn't in pain either. My dentist was shocked.

I'm not sure if my wisdom teeth are through yet or not. I don't even know if I have them. I was missing my lateral incisors, so it's possible I don't have those, either.

Yep, mine hurt the whole of last week and was getting worse so I was taking loads of painkillers and couldnt eat on that side and just wanting to sleep and die x_x Went to dentist and they just gave me antibiotics, I take the last ones tomorrow, the pain is pretty much gone but it still feels like the gum is weird and bumpy and I cant bite my teeth together properly, but eh. Was a BIG pain.

Never had any pain at all. I'm not even sure I have wisdom teeth. :)

I may or may not actually have any on the top of my mouth, and the ones that are definitely in the bottom are just kinda chill, hanging out.

My wisdom teeth are fully out and awesomeness. I'm seventeen and they're done coming through, so maybe that's a tad odd?

A while ago I had an x-ray done on my teeth at the dentist. They showed me the slide and said "Look! The wisdom teeth are trying to beat up your molars and take their place, but your molars are like 'nu-huh bitch this be my crib'. So in order for them to live in harmony my petite mouth would become really messed up. So the east coast and west coast molars are going to taken out the hard way."

I had to have surgery to get all 4 removed. That is why I don't like wisdom teeth. They're gone now, so they can go rot in a corner for all I care. I'm sure that one day they'll come back.

My wisdom teeth are ok. All four are mostly out, but one of them sort of came out horizontal to the rest of my teeth. My dentist said it was ok though. I had teeth taken out when I had braces on so there's plenty of space.

Aphrodite. I think that's normal. I was about that age when mine were around.

My wisdom teeth didn't break the surface. Before I hit 19, my dad had me get them taken out for like 20 bucks. They had to dig and pull them out. I was swollen for 3 days after, and the stitches were nasty.

Wisdom teeth are awesome if you get them pulled out early enough! I got mine removed when I was fifteen. Didn't hurt one bit with all the medicine they gave me and I missed five days of school :kaocheer:

I'd been going to the orthodontist for braces 'n' things, so when I was all done with that they said I should go to the dentist and get my wisdom teeth pulled because they'd cause lotsa problems when they came in. So I goes to the dentist and he did something with my arm and then said, "I'm going to put a brace on your arm so you don't move it in your sleep."

Then I woke up at my grandmother's house with a tingly, swollen face. I got to eat ice cream. Lotsa ice cream.

The worst part is that my face looked like this (wonder how many times I've posted this :exdee: ):

I had all four of mine out, at two separate dentist appointments (right side and then left side). Sucked horribly afterwards. D:

I had all four of mine removed via oral surgery about a month ago. They hurt like hell and am glad to have then gone. I looked like a chipmunk for a couple days, and ate nothing but soup and ice cream for about three days too. The pain killers they gave me were awesome too..:)

Nope. What I meant by the 20 bucks is that his dental plan covered 99% or something ridiculous. Also They hadn't even broken the surface of my gums, so it was a bit of an invasive procedure.

I'm 22 and although I have all of my wisdom teeth, they've never started to come through. My dentist is doubting that they ever will to be honest which would be fine by me. I doubt my mouth, as big as it is, has room and I don't need all the work my braces did years ago undone. Frankly if it came down to it, I'd endure any amount of pain having them removed so that I wouldn't have to have braces again. Getting those tightened always hurt more than I care to remember.

I didn't. I was under anesthetic. :D

Then again, I had to get all 4 out, and none of them had broken the skin yet. I'm happy I was asleep for it.

I have three wisdom teeth that fully out, and one that is on the way.. it's about half-way there. The three that are already out don't hurt at all, and they've grown very horizontally so you can't really tell they're wisdom teeth. Now, the fourth one is a bit of another story. It doesn't hurt, but it's not growing out as neatly as the other ones did. I hope to God that I don't have to have them removed!
